Rewas
Rewas (Rewas-Bodani or Revas) is one of 48 “minor” ports of Maharashtra located at Rewas Creek, near Karanja creek at mouth of the Patalganga River about southward of Jawaharlal Nehru Port (JNPT) and south-east of Mumbai Port. It is controlled by the state government through an agency known as the “Maharashtra Maritime Board”. The town of Rewas was combined with the neighboring town of Bodani, and the subsequently formed city is called Rewas-Bodani. History Originally called ''Rewas bunder'' (bunder=port), there has been a small fishing port at Rewas since the times of the Maratha empire. A pier was subsequently built during the British Raj, between 1864 and 1869. This was often used by small passenger steamers running between Bombay and Dharamtar, which sailed via Rewas. Navi Mumbai International Airport, officially D. B. Patil International Airport, is an international airport being constructed in Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. Patalganga River
The Patalganga River ( mr, पाताळगंगा नदी) is a river that rises in the steep western scarps of the Matheran uplands where it branches off from the main ridge near Khopoli and maintains a general westward flow till it joins the Dharamtar Creek with a wide estuary. The tail-waters of the Khopoli power project are let into the river near Khopoli in Maharashtra, India. It comes at foremost in terms of pollution. It is one of the most polluted rivers of Maharashtra, source being from Patalganga MIDC. Industries in Patalganga MIDC include (see the site). These companies contribute polluting the river.
