Resurreccion Borra
Resurreccion Borra (October 20, 1935 – August 1, 2020) was a Filipino public servant who was a Career Executive Service Officer (CESO), a former commissioner and was the Acting Chairman of the Philippine Commission on Elections (Philippines), Commission on Elections. He was the most senior Commissioner of Commission on Elections (Philippines), COMELEC who has served the agency for over 44 years. He replaced Benjamin Abalos upon the latter's resignation. Members of the Borra Commission Assumed office: October 2, 2007 Dissolved: February 2, 2008 Retirement Chairman Borra retired effective February 2, 2008. He was replaced by Romeo A. Brawner as an Acting Chairman. The Commission on Elections ( fil, Komisyon sa Halalan), abbreviated as , is one of the three constitutional commissions of the Philippines. Its principal role is to enforce all laws and regulations relative to the conduct of elections in the Philippines. Benjamin Abalos
Benjamin Santos Abalos Sr. (born September 21, 1934) is a Filipino politician who currently serves as the mayor of Mandaluyong, Metro Manila since 2022, a position he also held from 1986 to 1987 and from 1988 to 1998. He also served as a chairman of the Commission on Elections and chairman of the MMDA. He is the father of former Mandaluyong mayor and Interior and Local Government Secretary Benjamin "Benhur" Abalos Jr. Early life Abalos was born into a poor family in Pangasinan on September 21, 1934. He studied Economics at Ateneo de Manila University and graduated from the Manuel L. Quezon University in 1957. Abalos was admitted to the roll of attorneys of the Supreme Court in 1958 and then into the Integrated Bar of the Philippines in 1973. Romeo Montague () is the male protagonist of William Shakespeare's tragedy ''Romeo and Juliet''. The son of Lord Montague and his wife, Lady Montague, he secretly loves and marries Juliet, a member of the rival House of Capulet, through a priest named Friar Laurence.
