Remember Remember
Remember Remember were a Scottish instrumental band originating from Glasgow. Active between 2006 and 2015, they released three albums and other work on the Rock Action label, run by fellow Glasgow band Mogwai, with whom the band have also toured. History Remember Remember were originally the work of a single musician, Graeme Ronald, playing multiple instruments, including unusual percussion such as scissors, cutlery, coffee spoons, lighters and matches. The 2008 self-titled album was performed by Ronald with a few collaborators, including James Swinburne, who would later be part of the band, and James Hamilton from Errors. The band was gradually expanded in terms of musicians, until by later 2009 there were seven members; the first music released by this line-up was the "RR Scorpii" EP in 2010 and ''The Quickening'' album in 2011, which also featured RM Hubbert. Post-rock is a form of experimental rock characterized by a focus on exploring textures and timbre over traditional rock song structures, chords, or riffs. Post-rock artists are often instrumental, typically combining rock instrumentation with electronics. The genre emerged within the indie and underground music scene of the 1980s and early 1990s. Instrumental rock is rock music that emphasizes musical instruments and features very little or no singing. Examples of instrumental rock can be found in practically every subgenre of rock, often from musicians who specialize in the style. Rock Action Records is a Scottish, Glasgow-based independent record label, founded and maintained by Scottish post-rock band Mogwai. Mogwai
Mogwai () are a Scottish post-rock band, formed in 1995 in Glasgow. The band consists of Stuart Braithwaite (guitar, vocals), Barry Burns (guitar, piano, synthesizer, vocals), Dominic Aitchison (bass guitar), and Martin Bulloch (drums). Mogwai typically compose lengthy guitar-based instrumental pieces that feature dynamic contrast, melodic bass guitar lines, and heavy use of distortion and effects. Errors (band)
Errors are a three piece "post-electro" band from Glasgow, Scotland. They are signed to Rock Action Records, the label founded and managed by the band Mogwai. History The band was formed as a bedroom electronic-based project in Glasgow in 2004 by members Simon Ward, Greg Paterson and Stephen Livingstone. They were signed by Post-Rock band Mogwai to their Rock Action Records imprint who released a limited run 7" single "Hans Herman". The band followed up their debut with the 'How Clean is your Acid House? EP in 2006. Following the release of the EP, the band recruited former Multiplies and Dananananaykroyd drummer James Hamilton, who had been performing as a live member of the band, to the band as a full-time member. RM Hubbert
RM Hubbert (Robert McArthur Hubbert, born 12 May 1974 in Glasgow, Scotland), commonly known as Hubby, is a Scottish guitarist and singer. Best known for his solo work as RM Hubbert and as a member of Scottish post rock band El Hombre Trajeado, he has been an active member of the Glaswegian DIY music scene since 1991. Musical career Hubbert's first band was formed in 1991 under the name Me, Hubby & Thom. The band's drummer, Thom Falls, also played drums for Glasgow band The Blisters, notable as the first band of future Franz Ferdinand guitarist and singer Alex Kapranos. Kapranos and Hubbert became friends whilst running The Kazoo Club at The 13th Note in Glasgow after the original promoter quit. Hubbert later joined The Blisters on second guitar.
