Regentalbahn
The Regentalbahn (''Regentalbahn AG – Die Länderbahn'') is railway company based in Bavaria, and is owned by Ferrovie dello Stato and the Luxembourg infrastructure fund ''Cube'', through the German holding company of Netinera. It runs railway infrastructure, as well as regional and long-distance passenger services in Bavaria and Saxony with links into the Czech Republic, and Germany-wide goods trains. The subsidiary ''Regental Bahnbetriebs-GmbH (RBG)'' operates goods trains though its subsidiary ''Regental Cargo'', and passenger trains through ''Die Länderbahn'', whilst ''Regental Fahrzeugwerkstätten'' operates railway workshops. A fourth subsidiary ''Regental Kraftverkehrs'', a bus operator, ceased operations in 2004. Die Länderbahn
Die Länderbahn GmbH (DLB), formerly Vogtlandbahn GmbH, is a German rail transport company based in Viechtach, operating transport services originally only in the Vogtland, but now also on a regional basis. Die Länderbahn (literally "the states railway") is a subsidiary of Regentalbahn AG, which is owned by Ferrovie dello Stato subsidiary Netinera (formerly Arriva Deutschland). The term ''vogtlandbahn'' remains in use as a trademark of ''Die Länderbahn'' in Vogtland. Netinera
Netinera (formerly Arriva Deutschland) is a railway company operating in Germany. It was founded as a subsidiary of British Arriva plc in 2003 and initially headquartered in Hamburg. After the acquisition of Regentalbahn in 2004, the company's seat was located to Regentalbahn's head office at Viechtach in Bavaria. In the following years, many administrative and management positions were seated in Berlin, where the company headquarters were officially moved to in early 2023. With Deutsche Bahn's purchase of Arriva in 2010, the European Commission ruled that Deutsche Bahn would have to shed Arriva's German operations in order to comply with competition rules. Keolis, Veolia and Ferrovie dello Stato Italiane expressed interest in buying the business. Bavarian Forest Railway
The Bavarian Forest Railway (''Bayerische Waldbahn'' often just called the ''Waldbahn'') () links the heart of the Bavarian Forest around Regen and Zwiesel to Plattling and the Danube valley on one side, and the Czech Republic through Bayerisch Eisenstein on the other. Freilassing–Berchtesgaden Railway
The Freilassing–Berchtesgaden railway is an electrified line listed in the Deutsche Bahn timetable as route 954. The 33.671 km long route branches in Freilassing as a single-track line from the double-track Rosenheim–Salzburg railway. It is classified as a line as far as Bad Reichenhall and from there as branch line. The section between Bad Reichenhall-Kirchberg and Hallthurm is considered a steep section with specific operational requirements under Deutsche Bahn’s regulations. Vogtland
Vogtland (; cz, Fojtsko) is a region spanning the German states of Bavaria, Saxony and Thuringia and north-western Bohemia in the Czech Republic.
