Reg Lenna Center For The Arts
The Reg Lenna Center for the Arts is a restored 1923 theater used as a community center for the performing arts in Jamestown, New York. The center is named after a notable local resident Reginald Lenna who donated $1 million to begin restoration work in 1987. History In 2019, a $4.5 million renovation to the center expanded the complex to seven connected buildings. This work included the lobby, a new box office and concession stand, a relocated art gallery, a consolidated workspace for staff, and structural improvements. The Reg's low power radio station, WRFA, was expanded into a multimedia studio on the third floor. Reginald Alexander Lenna (rej' le-nā') (Jamestown, New York December 3, 1912 – Chautauqua Institution, New York, February 6, 2000) was an American Army officer and businessman. He was the Chief Executive Officer and chair of the Board of Blackstone Corporation from 1951 to 1985. Early life and education Reginald A. Lenna (le-nā'), the son of Swedish American immigrants, was born and grew up in Jamestown, New York. He graduated from Jamestown High School (New York) in 1931. Lenna then earned a degree in industrial engineering at Lehigh University and a commission in the US Army, graduating in 1936. His father, Oscar A. WRFA-LP (107.9 FM) is a radio station broadcasting in a community radio format. Licensed to Jamestown, New York, the station serves the Jamestown area. The station is currently owned by the Reg Lenna Center for the Arts. The station first went on air in September 2004. Dennis Drew served as the station's general manager from its launch until he retired in 2021. Since then, it has been led by Jason Sample, who had spent the previous decade as WRFA's news director and worked at other Jamestown radio stations before that.
