WRFA-LP
WRFA-LP (107.9 FM) is a radio station broadcasting in a community radio format. Licensed to Jamestown, New York, the station serves the Jamestown area. The station is currently owned by the Reg Lenna Center for the Arts. The station first went on air in September 2004. Dennis Drew served as the station's general manager from its launch until he retired in 2021. Since then, it has been led by Jason Sample, who had spent the previous decade as WRFA's news director and worked at other Jamestown radio stations before that. WRFA-LP is the broadcaster for the Jamestown Tarp Skunks baseball team. Dennis Drew
Dennis Arnold Drew (born 8 August 1957) is the keyboardist for the American alternative rock band 10,000 Maniacs. He has been with the band since its inception in 1981 and is one of three founding members along with Steve Gustafson and John Lombardo in the current band lineup. Jamestown is a city in southern Chautauqua County, in the U.S. state of New York. The population was 28,712 at the 2020 census. Reg Lenna Center For The Arts
The Reg Lenna Center for the Arts is a restored 1923 theater used as a community center for the performing arts in Jamestown, New York. The center is named after a notable local resident Reginald Lenna who donated $1 million to begin restoration work in 1987. History In 2019, a $4.5 million renovation to the center expanded the complex to seven connected buildings. This work included the lobby, a new box office and concession stand, a relocated art gallery, a consolidated workspace for staff, and structural improvements. Jamestown Tarp Skunks
The Jamestown Jammers were a minor league baseball team based in Jamestown, New York from 1994 until 2014. The team was the Short-Season A classification affiliate of the Pittsburgh Pirates and played in the New York–Penn League. The team played all of their home games at Russell Diethrick Park. On August 25, 2014, a week before the end of the 2014 season, it was announced that the team would cease operations in Jamestown and be relocated to Morgantown, West Virginia, beginning in 2015. That year, the club, which is owned by Bob Rich, Jr., began play at Monongalia County Ballpark, as the West Virginia Black Bears. The Jamestown Jammers intellectual property is separate from the franchise and survived after the minor league franchise relocated.
