Reclaim Philadelphia
Reclaim Philadelphia is an American progressive activist group based in the city of Philadelphia. Strongly associated with the 501c4 group Pennsylvania Stands Up, Reclaim was founded out of the structures created by the Bernie Sanders 2016 presidential campaign. History Reclaim Philadelphia was founded after Bernie Sanders had suspended his 2016 presidential campaign, as several Philadelphia-based activists disappointed with his loss decided to form an activist group in order to continue to advocate for what they viewed as progressive policies. The victory of Donald Trump in that year's presidential election galvanised the group, which began to hold more regular meetings as a result. Officially the Philadelphia chapter of the national group Our Revolution, Reclaim was active in Larry Krasner's successful 2017 campaign to become Philadelphia district attorney, credited by Krasner as having a "key role" in his victory. Kendra Nicole Brooks is an American politician and activist. She won a citywide at-large election in the Philadelphia City Council as a member of the Working Families Party (WFP) on November 5, 2019. The Council has seven at-large seats that go to the highest overall vote-getters, two seats are reserved for a minority party. Brooks's election is the first time a representative of a minor party won a seat on the council since the creation of the modern version of City Council in 1919. Lawrence M. Farnese Jr. (born June 1, 1968) is an American attorney and politician. He was a Democratic member of the Pennsylvania Senate where he represented the 1st District from 2009 until November 30, 2020. Farnese is the Democratic ward leader of the 8th ward in Philadelphia. Early life and education Farnese was born in Drexel Hill, Pennsylvania. His grandfather, Andrew M. Rick Chester Krajewski (born June 21, 1991) is an American politician who currently serves in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives representing the 188th legislative district. A member of the Democratic Party and the Democratic Socialists of America, Krajewski was first elected during the 2020 Pennsylvania House of Representatives election, when he primaried incumbent Democrat Jim Roebuck. Krajewski graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a degree in engineering in 2013. Nikil Saval (born December 27, 1982) is an Indian-American magazine editor, writer, organizer, activist, and politician. A member of the Democratic Party, he represents the 1st district in the Pennsylvania State Senate. Progressivism in the United States is a political philosophy and reform movement in the United States advocating for policies that are generally considered left-wing, left-wing populist, libertarian socialist, social democratic, and environmentalist.
