''Yaava Janmada Maitri'' ( kn, ಯಾವ ಜನ್ಮದ ಮೈತ್ರಿ) is a 1972 Kannada language romantic drama film directed by Geethapriya and starring Gangadhar and Kalpana in the lead roles. The film is a direct screen adaptation of the novel "Jeevana Chaduranga" written by the novelist Ma. Bhi. She. Actress Vaishali Kasaravalli made her debut in this film, opposite comedian Narasimharaju. The film was remade in Telugu in 1973 as ''Sarada'', in Tamil in 1973 as ''Radha'' and in Hindi in 1975 as '' Dulhan''. Besides direction, Geethapriya also wrote the lyrics as well as the screenplay and dialogues and won Karnataka State Film Award for the year 1972 for this story. The soundtrack and original score composed by Vijaya Bhaskar was widely acclaimed and won the State Award for music. It is a remake of the Hindi film '' Ustadon Ke Ustad'' (1963) and its Tamil version ''Vallavanukku Vallavan'' (1965). The film stars S. V. Hiḍimbī (Sanskrit: , IAST: ''Hiḍimbī''), or Hiḍimbā, is the rakshasi wife of the Pandava Bhima and the mother of Ghatotkacha in the ''Mahābhārata''. She meets Bhima in the 9th sub-parva (Hidimva-vadha Parva) of the Adi Parva. She is also referred to as Bhuṭanadevī or Pallavī.
