Raslet is a mountain on the border of Øystre Slidre Municipality and Vang Municipality in Innlandet county, Norway. The tall mountain is located in the Jotunheimen mountains, on the western edge of the Valdresflye plateau. It sits about northwest of the village of Beitostølen. The mountain is surrounded by several other notable mountains including Rasletinden to the northwest, Nørdre Kalvehølotinden to the west, Bitihorn to the south, Gråhøi and Kvernhøi to the east, and Heimdalshøe to the northeast. Rasletind
Rasletind or Rasletinden is a mountain on the border of Vang Municipality and Vågå Municipality in Innlandet county, Norway. The tall mountain is located in the Jotunheimen mountains within Jotunheimen National Park. The mountain sits about southwest of the village of Vågåmo and about northwest of the village of Beitostølen. The mountain is surrounded by several other notable mountains including Gråhøi to the east; Bukkehåmåren, Høgdebrotet, and Eggi to the north; Tjønnholstinden and Tjønnholsoksle to the northwest; and Kalvehøgde and Leirungskampen to the west. The mountain has two main summits, named Øystre Rasletind and Rasletind. The higher summit reaches an elevation of above sea level. Bitihorn
Bitihorn (local pronunciation: ) is a mountain on the border of Vang Municipality and Øystre Slidre Municipality in Innlandet county, Norway. The tall mountain is located in the Jotunheimen mountains about northwest of the village of Beitostølen. The mountain is surrounded by several other notable mountains including Rasletind and Raslet to the north, Gråhøi and Kvernhøi to the northeast, and Skaget to the east. It is situated on the west side of Norwegian County Road 51, and because of its location, it is a landmark for tourists following that popular driving route. Geology The mountain is steep towards south and east, and there is a subtle change in the rock layers between the sparagmite foundation and the summit which consists of the much harder gabbro rock. Øystre Slidre is a municipality in Innlandet county, Norway. It is located in the traditional district of Valdres. The administrative centre of the municipality is the village of Heggenes. Other villages in the municipality include Hegge, Rogne, Volbu, Moane, Skammestein, Beito, and Beitostølen. The municipality is the 120th largest by area out of the 356 municipalities in Norway. Valdresflye
Valdresflye, also spelled Valdresflya and Valdresflyi, is a mountain plateau in the easternmost part of the Jotunheimen mountains in Norway. The plateau lies in Innlandet county, mostly in Øystre Slidre Municipality, but a small area extends into Vang Municipality as well. The Norwegian County Road 51 runs over the plateau, reaching above mean sea level, but this road is only open in the summers. The plateau is surrounded by several mountains including Gråhøi to the east, Heimdalshøe to the northeast, Tjønnholstinden to the northwest, and Rasletinden to the west. The lakes Bygdin and Vinstre lie along the south side of the plateau. Name The plateaus is named ''Valdresflye''. The first element is the name of the district Valdres in which it is located. Innlandet is a county in Norway. It was created on 1 January 2020 with the merger of the old counties of Oppland and Hedmark (the municipalities of Jevnaker and Lunner were transferred to the neighboring county of Viken on the same date). Jotunheimen
Jotunheimen (; "the home of the Jötunn") is a mountainous area of roughly in southern Norway and is part of the long range known as the Scandinavian Mountains. The 29 highest mountains in Norway are all located in the Jotunheimen mountains, including the tall mountain Galdhøpiggen (the highest point in Norway). The Jotunheimen mountains straddle the border between Innlandet and Vestland counties (historically part of the old Oppland and Sogn og Fjordane counties). Tourism Jotunheimen is very popular with hikers and climbers, and the Norwegian Mountain Touring Association maintains a number of mountain lodges in the area, as well as marked trails that run between the lodges and others that run up to some of the peaks.
