Rail Nilayam is a landmark building in Hyderabad that is the zonal headquarters of the South Central Railway zone of the Indian Railways. It is located near the Marredpally neighbourhood of Secunderabad, Telangana, India. The Office of General Manager, SCR Zone is located on the premises of this building. The South Central Railway (abbreviated SCR) is one of the 19 zones of Indian Railways. The jurisdiction of the zone is spread over the states of Telangana, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh. Railway signalling (), also called railroad signaling (), is a system used to control the movement of railway traffic. Trains move on fixed rails, making them uniquely susceptible to collision.
