Rachel Kuehn
Rachel Kuehn (born June 6, 2001) is an American amateur golfer. Early life and family Kuehn was born 2001 in Asheville, North Carolina to an athletic family. Her grandfather Jack Corrie represented Venezuela in the 1958 Eisenhower Trophy and played golf and basketball at MIT. Her mother, Brenda Corrie Kuehn, was a Hall of Fame golfer at Wake Forest and represented both her native Dominican Republic and the USA in the Espirito Santo Trophy a total of four times, as well as two Curtis Cups. Her father, Eric, and two uncles were Division I baseball players. Her brother Corrie played collegiate golf at Rhodes College. Kuehn herself was a state champion in tennis before focusing on golf. Her mother had an accomplished amateur career and twice claimed medalist honors in the U.S. Women's Mid-Amateur (1995 and 1996). 2022 Curtis Cup
The 42nd Curtis Cup Match was played from June 10–12, 2022 at Merion Golf Club, Ardmore, Pennsylvania. It was played less than a year after the previous contest, at Conwy Golf Club in 2021, which had been delayed because of the COVID-19 pandemic. The USA team retained the Curtis Cup by a score of 15 to 4. Format The contest is a three-day competition, with three foursomes and three fourball matches on each of the first two days, and eight singles matches on the final day, a total of 20 points. Each of the 20 matches is worth one point in the larger team competition. If a match ends all square after the 18th hole extra holes were not played. Rather, each side earned point toward their team total. The team that accumulates at least 10 points won the competition. In the event of a tie, the current holder retains the Cup. It was the 24th time the event had been contested and the third under the new format in which women golfers played in addition to men and an international team, representing the rest of the world, replaced the European team. Arnold Palmer Cup
The Arnold Palmer Cup is an annual team golf competition for college/university golfers. From 2018 it has been contested between a United States team and an International team representing the rest of the world. The teams consist of 12 men and 12 women. The teams are selected on the basis of nationality, not according to the location of the players' universities. The 2023 event will be held from June 10 to 12 at Laurel Valley Golf Club, near Ligonier, Pennsylvania. History From its foundation in 1997 until 2017 the event was only contested by men. From 1997 until 2002 the United States played Great Britain & Ireland while from 2003 to 2017 the United States played a European team. Rose Zhang
Rose Zhang (born May 24, 2003) is an American amateur golfer. She won the 2020 U.S. Women's Amateur and the 2022 NCAA Division I Championship. She competed in the 2019 U.S. Women's Open and was on the gold medal team at the 2019 Pan American Games. Personal life Zhang was born in Arcadia, California and resides in Irvine, California. She began golfing at the age of 9. Zhang attended Pacific Academy and enrolled at Stanford University in 2021. Rachel Heck (born ) is an American amateur golfer. Early life and amateur career Heck, a native of Memphis, Tennessee started playing golf with her two sisters almost as soon as she could walk, competing in friendly competitions for ice cream. Her older sister, Abby, played collegiate golf at University of Notre Dame and younger sister, Anna, who is committed to play golf at the University of Notre Dame, competed in the 2021 U.S. Women's Amateur Four-Ball. A golf prodigy, Heck was a five-time AJGA All-American. She was the youngest competitor in the 2017 U.S. Women's Open, tied for 33rd. 2022 Espirito Santo Trophy
The 2022 Espirito Santo Trophy took place 24–27 August at Le Golf National and Golf de Saint-Nom-la-Bretèche south-west of Paris, France. It was the 29th women's golf World Amateur Team Championship for the Espirito Santo Trophy. Format The tournament was a 72-hole stroke play team event. Each team of three players played two rounds at Le Golf National and two rounds at Golf de Saint-Nom-la-Bretèche in different orders. The top teams played their final round on Le Golf National, The best two scores for each round counted towards the team total. Venues Le Golf National had previously hosted the Open de France every year except two since 1991, the 2018 Ryder Cup and the 1994 Eisenhower Trophy and Espirito Santo Trophy.
