Río Frío Airport
Río Frío Airport is an airport serving the settlement of Río Frío, in the Los Lagos Region of Chile. It is west of the border with Argentina. The runway is up a narrow valley of the Frío River, a small tributary of the Manso River (es). There is close mountainous terrain in all quadrants, and the valley sides limit maneuvering. Los Lagos Region
Los Lagos Region ( es, Región de Los Lagos , ''Region of the Lakes'') is one of Chile's 16 regions, which are first order administrative divisions, and comprises four provinces: Chiloé, Llanquihue, Osorno and Palena. The region contains the country's second largest island, Chiloé, and the second largest lake, Llanquihue. Its capital is Puerto Montt; other important cities include Osorno, Castro, Ancud, and Puerto Varas. The mainland portion of Los Lagos Region south of Reloncaví Sound (Palena Province) is considered part of Patagonia. Manso River (Argentina)
The Manso River is a river of Rio Negro Province of Argentina and Los Lagos Region of Chile, both part of Patagonia. The Manso River is located in the Andes. It follows a winding route through snow-capped mountains and connects many glacial lakes. The Manso flows generally southward until its confluence with the Puelo River in Chile. The river while in Argentina flows through the Nahuel Huapi National Park. Most of the southern part of Nahuel Huapi is in the drainage basin of the Manso River. Description The Manso River arises at elevation of in the small lake fed by the Ventisquero Negro glacier. The river flows about eastward to Mascardi Lake.
