''RéCréation'' is a 1999 double album recorded by French singer Florent Pagny. It was his fifth studio album and his seventh album overall. It was on October 26, 1999, and achieved success in France and Belgium (Wallonia), where it remained charted respectively for 21 and 24 weeks, including a peak at #1 and at #4. This album contains cover versions of various successful songs originally recorded by other artists. There were two singles from this album : "Jolie môme" (#13 in France, #11 in Belgium) and " Les Parfums de sa vie (Je l'ai tant aimée)" (#38 in France, #30 in Belgium). Florent Pagny (born 6 November 1961) is a French singer-songwriter, musician and actor. He records his work in French, as well as in Italian, Spanish and English. His greatest hits include " N'importe quoi", " Savoir aimer" and " Ma Liberté de penser"—all three were number one in France. As of 2018, he has sold more than 6 million singles and 10 million albums, becoming the 17th best-selling artist of all time in France. Early years Florent Pagny began his artistic career as an actor in popular films and television dramas. He appeared in ''La Balance'', '' L'As des as'', and ''A Captain's Honor'' or ''Fort Saganne''. In 1987, he wrote his first song titled " N'importe quoi". Pagny's first album, ''Merci'', was released in 1990. Tu Manques
"Tu manques" is a 1990 song recorded by Carole Fredericks, Jean-Jacques Goldman and Michael Jones. It was the sixth and last single from the album ''Fredericks Goldman Jones'' on which it appears as the last track and was released in May 1992. Although the three singers are credited on the single cover, only Goldman performed it. It was a top 15 hit in France. Music and lyrics According to Goldman, "Tu manques" is a very "intimate song". Composed of three chords, the song was written very quickly during a night. It deals with the absence of a loved person and the painful consequences that this situation generates. The song is autobiographical and refers to Goldman's father who died at the time. In an interview by Nagui on RTL, the singer said that "Tu manques" would never be released as a single and never performed on stage (finally, the song came out, but it was actually never sung live). "Les Parfums de sa vie (Je l'ai tant aimée)" is a 1988 song recorded by French artist Art Mengo. Written by Patrice Guirao with a music composed by Mengo, it was his debut single from his 1990 album ''Un 15 août en février'' on which it is the ninth track and was released in October 1988. In France, it became a top ten hit and Mengo's most successful single. In February 1997, Mengo performed the song during his concert in Toulouse and this version available on his abum ''Live au Mandala''. In 2000, the song was notably covered by Florent Pagny which released it as the second single from his album ''RéCréation'' and made it a top 40 single in France and Belgium (Wallonia). Released on 7 November 2000, it achieved huge success in France where it remained charted for 80 weeks, including a peak at the top for one week. It was also successful in Belgium (Wallonia). It provided three singles, but a sole top ten hit: "Et un jour, une femme" (#5 in France, #2 in Belgium), "Châtelet Les Halles" (#45 in France) and "Terre" (#37 in France). Léo Ferré
Léo Ferré (24 August 1916 – 14 July 1993) was a French-born Monégasque poet and composer, and a dynamic and controversial live performer, whose career in France dominated the years after the Second World War until his death. Paul Alain Leclerc (born 4 October 1947), known by his stage name Julien Clerc (), is a French singer-songwriter. Life Born in Paris, Clerc grew up listening to classical music in his father Paul Leclerc's home, while his mother Évelyne Merlot introduced him to the music of such singers as Georges Brassens and Edith Piaf. Michel Jonasz (born 21 January 1947 in Drancy, France) is a French composer-songwriter, singer and actor. His compositions include: ''La boîte de jazz'', ''Joueurs de blues'' and ''Les vacances au bord de la mer''.
