Ràdio Andorra
Radio Andorra (Ràdio Andorra in Catalan or Radio Andorre in French) was a commercial radio that broadcast by concession of the authorities from the Principality of Andorra between 1939 and 1981. Thanks to the neutrality of the Principality during World War II, Radio Andorra became the only private European radio station broadcasting in French during the conflict without being under direct orders from France or Germany. Likewise it became the only radio station to conserve its independence after the war ended, despite the strong pressure from the Gallic authorities received by the Andorran government. History Beginnings and early years Broadcasting began on 7 August 1939. Jacques Trémoulet, who was also the owner of the broadcasting company ''Radiophonie du Midi'' and had already broadcast in Toulouse, Montpellier, Bordeaux and Agen, created Radio Andorra fearing the civil interdiction of the private radio in French territory, due to the fact that, if it had been produced, it wou ...

Sud Radio
Sud Radio is a French privately owned radio station, founded in 1958. Until 2017, it was headquartered in Labège, Haute-Garonne near Toulouse, before it moved to Courbevoie, Hauts-de-Seine. This relocation to the Parisian region allows for the radio to host more politicians and other personalities for studio interviews. History On 29 October 1951, ANDORRADIO S.A was constituted with an ownership of 51% by Sofirad, with the aim to create a new radio station in Andorra; the station eventually started broadcasting on 18 September 1958 and was named ''Andorradio''. On 29 March 1961 an agreement was signed allowing two stations to transmit from Andorra. The French radio, previously called ''Radio des Vallées d'Andorre'' ("Radio of the Valleys of Andorra") became ''Sud Radio'' ("Radio South") in 1966. In March 1986, Sud Radio received permission to transmit on the French FM band. The following year, the group Laboratoires Pierre Fabre took control of Sud Radio along regional investo ...

Radio Stations Disestablished In 1981
Radio is the technology of signaling and communicating using radio waves. Radio waves are electromagnetic waves of frequency between 30 hertz (Hz) and 300 gigahertz (GHz). They are generated by an electronic device called a transmitter connected to an antenna which radiates the waves, and received by another antenna connected to a radio receiver. Radio is very widely used in modern technology, in radio communication, radar, radio navigation, remote control, remote sensing, and other applications. In radio communication, used in radio and television broadcasting, cell phones, two-way radios, wireless networking, and satellite communication, among numerous other uses, radio waves are used to carry information across space from a transmitter to a receiver, by modulating the radio signal (impressing an information signal on the radio wave by varying some aspect of the wave) in the transmitter. In radar, used to locate and track objects like aircraft, ships, spacecraft and ...

Andorra–France Relations
Andorra and France are members of the Council of Europe, Organisation internationale de la Francophonie and the United Nations. The two share a head of state, as the president of France is one of the co-princes of Andorra. History Andorra and France have an unusual and long relationship. Andorra was created by Charlemagne as a buffer state between France and the Umayyad conquest of Hispania. In 1278, under terms of "pareage" agreement, Andorra adopted joint allegiance to a French and a Spanish prince after disputes between French heirs to the Urgel countship and the Spanish bishops of Urgell. For more than 700 years Andorra was ruled jointly by the leader of France and the bishop of Urgell. In 1607, a French royal edict establishes the French head-of-state and bishop of Urgell as co-princes. In 1936, during the Spanish Civil War, France sent troops to protect Andorra from the spillover of the civil war. During World War II, Andorra became an important smuggling route from Vichy Fra ...
