Rypefjord
Rypefjord is a village in Hammerfest Municipality in Troms og Finnmark county, Norway. The village is located just south of the town of Hammerfest on the western side of the large island of Kvaløya. Rypefjord was the main population centre of the former municipality of Sørøysund. Today, Rypefjord is considered a suburb of the town of Hammerfest. Fjordtun primary school is located in Rypefjord. Hammerfest (town)
Hammerfest or Hámmárfeasta is a town that is also the administrative centre of Hammerfest Municipality in Troms og Finnmark county, Norway. It is located on the northwestern coast of the island of Kvaløya, just north of the village of Rypefjord and southwest of the village of Forsøl. The town has a population (2017) of 8,052 which gives the town a population density of . The town has an ice-free harbor, including the nearby island of Melkøya which is home to a natural gas processing station. It processes gas from the Snøhvit gas field in the Barents Sea. Rypefjord is a suburb to the south of the town. The main church for the town and municipality is Hammerfest Church. Finnmark
Finnmark (; se, Finnmárku ; fkv, Finmarku; fi, Ruija ; russian: Финнмарк) was a county in the northern part of Norway, and it is scheduled to become a county again in 2024. On 1 January 2020, Finnmark was merged with the neighbouring county of Troms to form the new Troms og Finnmark county. Kvaløya, Finnmark
Kvaløya ( sme, Fálá) is a large island in Troms og Finnmark county, Norway. The island is located in Hammerfest Municipality. The town of Hammerfest is located in the western shore of the island. Other villages on the island include Forsøl, Rypefjord, and Stallogargo. The island is connected to the mainland via Norwegian National Road 94 which crosses the Kvalsund Bridge in the southern part of the island. Most of the settlements on the island are on the western shore along the highway 94. There is a ferry connection between Kvaløya and the island of Seiland to the southwest. Sørøysund
Sørøysund is a former municipality in Finnmark county, Norway. The municipality existed from 1852 until its dissolution in 1992. It is located in the present-day municipality of Hammerfest. The former municipality encompassed the eastern part of the island of Sørøya, the northern part of the island of Seiland, and the northern part of Kvaløya (with the exception of the town of Hammerfest).
