Ryley Walker
Ryley Walker (born July 21, 1989) is an American singer-songwriter and guitarist from Rockford, Illinois. Biography Walker, and critics, have cited the band Genesis and singer-songwriter Nick Drake as early influences. Walker began his career in Chicago's independent music scene after moving there in the early 2010s, releasing several cassette EPs and a vinyl EP. In 2014, he released his debut album for the Tompkins Square label, and followed it early in 2015 with '' Primrose Green'' released on Dead Oceans. Backing musicians Walker employed on ''Primrose Green'' include several noted Chicago jazz and experimental musicians such as Fred Lonberg-Holm. Also in 2015, Walker released an instrumental album, recorded in collaboration with fellow Chicago musician , entitled ''Land of Plenty''. Rockford is a city in Winnebago County, Illinois, located in the far northern part of the state. Fred Lonberg-Holm
Fred Lonberg-Holm (born 1 October 1962) is an American cellist based in Chicago. He moved from New York City to Chicago in 1995. Lonberg-Holm is most identified with playing free improvisation and free jazz. He is also a composer of concert works. As a session musician and arranger, he is credited on rock, pop, and country records. As leader Lonberg-Holm has led Valentine Trio, with Jason Roebke ( bass) and Frank Rosaly (drums). This jazz trio performs original compositions as well as tunes by both jazz composers (e.g. Sun Ra) and pop songwriters (e.g. Jeff Tweedy, Syd Barrett). The group released its first album, ''Terminal Valentine'', in 2007, which was reviewed by AllAboutJazz critic Nils Jacobson. Daniel Bachman (born 1989) is an American Primitive guitarist, drone musician, and independent scholar from Fredericksburg, Virginia, United States. Career Bachman's first projects were released under the moniker Sacred Harp. In 2011, Bachman released Grey-Black-Green, his first release under his own name. Although primarily a solo player, Bachman has also worked with several collaborators across various projects, including full collaborative albums with the guitarist Ryley Walker and multi-instrumentalist Ian McColm. ''The Lillywhite Sessions'' (tLWS) is a collection of songs recorded by Dave Matthews Band in 1999 and 2000 and produced by Steve Lillywhite. The songs, recorded by the band as a follow-up to their 1998 album '' Before These Crowded Streets'', were ultimately scrapped by the band's label. Upon being forced by the label to abandon the album-in-progress, Dave Matthews was assigned to work with producer Glen Ballard who, in association with Matthews, wrote the album ''Everyday'' in just ten days. This contrasted with the band's prior style of writing, which included significant collaboration between the band members in the studio.
