Daniel Bachman
Daniel Bachman (born 1989) is an American Primitive guitarist, drone musician, and independent scholar from Fredericksburg, Virginia, United States. Career Bachman's first projects were released under the moniker Sacred Harp. In 2011, Bachman released Grey-Black-Green, his first release under his own name. Although primarily a solo player, Bachman has also worked with several collaborators across various projects, including full collaborative albums with the guitarist Ryley Walker and multi-instrumentalist Ian McColm. Critical reception In 2015, ''Rolling Stone'' named Bachman one of "10 Artists You Need to Know." NPR described him as an "established and thoughtful voice in the solo guitar music scene" who contributed "languid slide guitar" in one piece, and with hammer-ons "piercing like a floodlight out of darkness" in another. Fredericksburg is an independent city located in the Commonwealth of Virginia. As of the 2020 census, the population was 27,982. The Bureau of Economic Analysis of the United States Department of Commerce combines the city of Fredericksburg with neighboring Spotsylvania County for statistical purposes. Tompkins Square Records is an independent record label producing archival releases of gospel, blues, jazz, and country music. History In 2005, Josh Rosenthal launched Tompkins Square Records in New York City after working 15 years in a variety of positions at Sony Music. Tompkins Square moved to San Francisco in 2011. Rosenthal runs the label on his own with help from an art director and publishing company. William Armistead Tyler (born December 25, 1979, in Nashville, Tennessee) is an American musician and guitarist who plays "cosmic country," folk, indie folk, and pop rock. His debut studio album, ''Behold the Spirit'', was released on November 22, 2010. Adam Bednarik produced the album with Tyler on Tompkins Square Records. He has since released three additional solo albums. Background Tyler was born to Daniel E. "Dan" Tyler and Adele B. Tyler on December 25, 1979, in Nashville, Tennessee. His father is a noted songwriter in his own right who wrote "The Light in Your Eyes" by LeAnn Rimes, co-wrote "Baby's Got a New Baby" by S-K-O, and co-wrote "Modern Day Romance" by Nitty Gritty Dirt Band; in addition, both of his parents co-wrote " Bobbie Sue" by The Oak Ridge Boys.
