A continuation high school is an alternative to a comprehensive high school. In some countries it is primarily for students who are considered at risk of not graduating at the normal pace. Lars Frederiksen & The Bastards
Lars Frederiksen and the Bastards was an American street punk band formed to release the songs that Lars had written. Their songs include subject matter consisting of drinking, fighting, drugs, sex, prostitutes, gangs, and street life. They were the side project band of Lars Frederiksen from Rancid. The band members were Lars Frederiksen (vocals and lead guitar), Gordy Carbone (also credited as "Unknown Bastard") (vocals), Jason Woods, aka Big Jay Bastard, (bass), Craig Leg (rhythm guitar) and Scott Abels (also credited as "Skatty Punk Rock") (drums). While Craig did not appear on the first album, he was always been a touring member of the band. Peter Sommer Christensen (born 28 August 1974 in Skanderborg) is a Danish singer and songwriter. His lyrics are often characterized by interesting puns and word plays. Besides his solo career, he was in the duo Superjeg with Carsten Valentin Lassen, and is currently part of the duo De Eneste To alongside Simon Kvamm. Ebbe Schmidt Nielsen (7 June 1950 – 7 March 2001) was a Danish entomologist influential in systematics and Lepidoptera research, and an early proponent of biodiversity informatics. The journal ''Invertebrate Systematics'' was established with significant contributions from Nielsen, and he assisted in the founding of the Global Biodiversity Information Facility (GBIF). Anna Klindt Sørensen (9 August 1899 – 28 July 1985) was a Danish painter and illustrator. She is now remembered as a strong, self-assured women who practised French Expressionism on her own terms in Denmark. Biography Born in Ry in central Jutland, Anna Klindt Sørensen came from a well-to-do family who owned a large estate. She received private painting lessons at home from the landscape painter Pauline Thomsen, a pupil of Vilhelm Kyhn. After schooling in Silkeborg and at Askov Folk High School, she entered Albertine Wesenberg's school for porcelain decoration in Copenhagen but soon left to concentrate on painting, producing ''Udsigt over Øm Kloster'' (1918) in Thomsen's Naturalist style. The Armenian genocide was the systematic destruction of the Armenians in the Ottoman Empire, Armenian people and identity in the Ottoman Empire during World War I. Maria Jacobsen
Maria Jacobsen (November 6, 1882 – April 6, 1960) was a Danish missionary and a key witness to the Armenian genocide. Jacobsen wrote the ''Diaries of a Danish Missionary: Harpoot, 1907–1919'', which according to Armenian genocide scholar Ara Sarafian, is "documentation of the utmost significance" for research of the Armenian genocide. Pauline Thomsen
Pauline Marthea Georgine Bergstrøm Thomsen (17 July 1858 – 16 April 1931) was a Danish painter and art teacher. Biography Born on 17 July 1858 in Roskilde, Pauline Thomsen was the daughter of the lecturer Christen Thomsen (1822–1874) and Pauline Mathea Georgine Bergstrøm (1831–1896). From 1877 to 1880 Thomsen attended Vilhelm Kyhn's art school in Copenhagen as the Academy did not admit women until 1888. She adopted his Romantic approach in the landscapes she painted first in Zealand and later together with Kyhn's former students in the area around Ry and Himmelbjerget in Jutland. Her landscapes seldom include figures but often have striking groups of trees. Like Kyhn, she gave the sky and cloud formations an important place in her paintings.
