Ruth Olina Lødemel
Ruth Olina Lødemel (born 18 May 1966 in Volda, Norway) is a Norwegian soprano, dancer, actor and composer. Career After finishing her Examen artium at "Atlanten videregående skole" (1983–86), Lødemel has studied singing and vocal pedagogy. She is a graduate of Norwegian Academy of Music (1986) and Barratt Due Institute of Music (1991), and is in 2013 working on her master's degree in vocals at Høgskulen i Volda. Recently in 2013, Lødemel has traveled around with the play "Ervingen" in connection with "Språkåret", a musical play where Lødemel performs her own music together with the guitarist Øystein Dahle Egset. Volda
Volda is a municipality in Møre og Romsdal county, Norway. It is part of the Sunnmøre region. The administrative centre is the village of Volda. Other villages in the municipality include Dravlaus, Fyrde, Straumshamn, Leira, Bjørke, and Grodås. The municipality is located about south of the town of Ålesund. The municipality is the 132nd largest by area out of the 356 municipalities in Norway. Volda is the 106th most populous municipality in Norway with a population of 10,809. Ivar Aasen
Ivar Andreas Aasen (; 5 August 1813 – 23 September 1896) was a Norwegian philologist, lexicographer, playwright, and poet. He is best known for having assembled one of the two official written versions of the Norwegian language, Nynorsk, from various dialects. Background He was born as Iver Andreas Aasen at Åsen in Ørsta (then Ørsten), in the district of Sunnmøre, on the west coast of Norway. His father, a peasant with a small farm, Ivar Jonsson, died in 1826. The younger Ivar was brought up to farmwork, but he assiduously cultivated all his leisure in reading. An early interest of his was botany. When he was eighteen, he opened an elementary school in his native parish. Sunnmøre (, en, South- Møre) is the southernmost traditional district of the western Norwegian county of Møre og Romsdal. Its main city is Ålesund. The region comprises the municipalities ( no, kommuner) of Giske, Hareid, Herøy, Norddal, Sande, Skodje, Haram, Stordal, Stranda, Sula, Sykkylven, Ulstein, Vanylven, Volda, Ørskog, Ørsta, and Ålesund.
