Russian Love
Russian Love was a rock group (active 1986–1998) that came from Northern Finland and was one of the first gothic rock bands in Finland to sing in English and the first one have an album released. Originally the band was formed in Haapavesi, a small village of 7000 inhabitants, but having graduated from high school the group members moved in order to continue their studies in the city of Oulu. Russian Love's career can be divided into a gothic rock/ dark wave period (1986–1991) and alternative rock period (1991–1998). During their career Russian Love released five albums. The first album ''Nergal'' was re-released in 2007. Finland
Finland ( fi, Suomi ; sv, Finland ), officially the Republic of Finland (; ), is a Nordic country in Northern Europe. Gothic Rock
Gothic rock (also called goth rock or simply goth) is a style of rock music that emerged from post-punk in the United Kingdom in the late 1970s. The first post-punk bands which shifted toward dark music with gothic overtones include Siouxsie and the Banshees, Joy Division, Bauhaus, and the Cure. The genre itself was defined as a separate movement from post-punk. Gothic rock stood out due to its darker sound, with the use of primarily minor or bass chords, reverb, dark arrangements, or dramatic and melancholic melodies, having inspirations in gothic literature allied with themes such as sadness, nihilism, dark romanticism, tragedy, melancholy and morbidity. These themes are often approached poetically. The sensibilities of the genre led the lyrics to represent the evil of the century and the romantic idealization of death and the supernatural imagination. Haapavesi
Haapavesi is a town and a municipality of Finland. It is located in the North Ostrobothnia region. The name means "Aspen Water". The town has a population of () and covers an area of of which is water. The population density is . Oulu

Dark wave (also typeset as darkwave) is a music genre that emerged from the new wave and post-punk movement of the late 1970s. ''Boys Don't Cry'' is The Cure's first compilation album. Released in February 1980, this album is composed of several tracks from the band's May 1979 debut album '' Three Imaginary Boys'' (which had yet to see a U.S. release) with material from the band's 1978–1979 era. Release ''Boys Don't Cry'' was released on 5 February 1980 by record label Fiction. Two Witches
Two Witches is a gothic rock band from Finland, formed in 1987. As with several other late 1980s bands (like Dream Theater and Nosferatu), Two Witches started basing the main part of their appearances and lyrics on vampiric imagery. The group was founded by Jyrki Witch and Anne Nurmi, who in 1993 left the band to start a professional relationship with Tilo Wolff and his group Lacrimosa.
