Russia-2 (russian: Россия-2) was a former Russian television channel operated by VGTRK. It primarily broadcast sport. Between 2007 and 2009 during the daytime, it broadcast the children's channel called Bibigon. Before January 1, 2010, it was known as ''Sport'', but since then it was re-branded due to a broadened format. On 1 November 2015 the channel was closed and its broadcasting frequency was taken by a new sports television channel Match TV. My Planet (russian: Моя планета) is a state-owned Russian television channel. It belongs to the All-Russia State Television and Radio Company (VGTRK), Russia’s main state television group. Russia-24 (russian: Россия-24) is a state-owned Russian-language news channel from Russia. It covers major national and international events as well as focuses on domestic issues. It is owned by VGTRK. History The broadcast began January 1, 2007 in Russia, February 7 on the West Coast of the United States, May 19, 2008 in Serbia, and October 9, 2008 in Kyrgyzstan. Russia-K (russian: Россия Культура, translit=Rossiya Kul'tura "Russia - Culture") is a Russian nationwide not-for-profit television channel that broadcasts shows regarding arts and culture. It belongs to the state-controlled VGTRK group. History The creation of ''Kultura'' channel was authorised on 25 August 1997 after the presidential Decree No. 919 was signed by Boris Yeltsin. Bibigon (Russian: Бибигон) was a Russian television channel dedicated to children and adolescents. The channel, a subsidiary of Russia-1 and owned by VGTRK, was first launched on 1 September 2007. It was originally launched as a block in daytime on Russia, Sport and Kultura. Bibigon was only available in Russia and Armenia.
