Russ Lawton
Russ Lawton is a professional drummer from Vermont. He is best known as the drummer from the solo band of Phish guitarist Trey Anastasio. Lawton also performs with the Vermont jam band Strangefolk and The Chrome Cowboys. Lawton performed on Mike Gordon's albums ''Inside In'' and "The Green Sparrow". Russ sat in with the Vermont-based "Book'em Blues Band" for an evening of blues and rock on April 14, 2009 at Nectar's in Burlington, Vermont. Trey Anastasio (band)
Since 1998, Trey Anastasio, best known from Phish, has toured and recorded with several backing musicians, including several side-projects organized and led by the guitarist and composer. Fans commonly referred to them as Trey Anastasio Band, or TAB for short. In spring 2005, after the break up of Phish the previous fall, Trey formed 70 Volt Parade. This moniker only lasted a short time, as he began using the name Trey Anastasio Band for this group the following year. In 2008, he toured with members of the older band as "Classic TAB", and then two years later, he began again using the name Trey Anastasio Band for this group. Phish
Phish is an American rock band formed in Burlington, Vermont, in 1983. The band is known for musical improvisation, extended jams, blending of genres, and a dedicated fan base. The band consists of guitarist Trey Anastasio, bassist Mike Gordon, drummer Jon Fishman, and keyboardist Page McConnell, all of whom perform vocals, with Anastasio being the lead vocalist. Ernest Joseph "Trey" Anastasio III (born September 30, 1964) is an American guitarist, singer, and songwriter, best known as the lead guitarist of the rock band Phish, which he co-founded in 1983. He is credited by name as composer of 152 Phish original songs, 141 of them as a solo credit, in addition to 41 credits attributed to the band as a whole. Strangefolk
Strangefolk is a rock-oriented jam band originally from Burlington, Vermont. Since forming in 1991, the band has released five studio albums, four live albums and one live concert DVD. The band consists of Jon Trafton (''lead guitar, vocals''), Erik Glockler (''bass, vocals''), Reid Genauer (''rhythm guitar, vocals''), and Luke Smith (''drums''). Michael Eliot Gordon (born June 3, 1965) is an American bass guitarist and vocalist most recognized as a founding member of the band Phish. In addition to bass, Gordon is an accomplished banjo player, and is proficient at piano and guitar. He is also a filmmaker (''Rising Low'', ''Outside Out'') and author (''Mike's Corner''). ''Inside In'' is Mike Gordon's first solo album and was released August 26, 2003. This album was wholly produced during and after the movie, ''Outside Out'' and uses aural tracks from it. Included in the liner notes are lyrics to some tracks, art and design by Andrew Cunningham, photography by David Barron, confessions of a room, acronyms, a "good quote" from Col. Bruce Hampton, and "everything else unsaid". Gordon formed a solo band to tour in support of the album in late 2003. In 2006, Gordon created an audio and visual project with his mother, artist Marjorie Minkin, featuring sculpture designs set to the music of ''Inside In''. The Green Sparrow
''The Green Sparrow'' is the second solo album from Phish bassist Mike Gordon, released August 5, 2008. It is his first solo album in five years (since 2003's ''Inside In''). Gordon has also released a pair of studio albums with acoustic guitarist Leo Kottke, a live album with the experimental Benevento-Russo Duo, and a live DVD with Grateful Dead offshoot Rhythm Devils. Gordon dedicated all of 2007 to writing ''The Green Sparrow'' while taking a yearlong hiatus from touring.
