Runa is a feminine given name with multiple origins from different, unrelated cultures. Runa or Rúna is a feminine given name of Old Norse origin meaning ''rune'' or ''secret lore.'' Runa Vikestad (born 13 August 1984) is a Norwegian football defender, currently playing for Kolbotn Fotball in the Toppserien. She has also played for IF Fløya and Denmark's Fortuna Hjørring. Runa Førde (24 February 1933 – 28 July 2017) was a Norwegian painter, illustrator and graphic artist. She was born in Oslo to Inger Else Johanne Steenberg and Sverre Førde.
