Rumbalara Football Netball Club
The Rumbalara Football Netball Club (Rumbalara FNC), nicknamed Rumba, is an Aboriginal Australian sporting club located in Shepparton, Victoria. The club's teams play Australian Rules Football (in the Murray Football League) since 2006. History The club has its roots in the Cummeragunja Reserve, whose last residents were moved to Rumbalara in 1956. The Rumbalara Football Club debuted in 1997 in second division of the Goulburn Valley Football League and finished fourth. The following year it won the Second division pennant, defeating Alexandra. In 1999 Rumbalara and all the second division clubs seceded from the Goulburn Valley FL and formed the Central Goulburn Football League. It won the first premiership of the league and also won in 2002. It was runner-up in 2004 and 2005. It lost the 2004 Grand final replay by six points. Murray Football League
The Murray Football Netball League is an Australian rules football and netball league affiliated with the Victorian Country Football League. The league covers a large area of northern Victoria and southern New South Wales from Shepparton in the south to Deniliquin in the north. It covers much the same area as the Picola & District Football League but the teams tend to be the larger communities and towns. History The "Murray Football League" (MFL) was established in 1931, when it superseded the old Goulburn Valley Football Association, with the following clubs, Barooga, Cobram, Numurkah, Strathmerton and Tocumwal. Nathalia Football Club's admission into the MFL was initially rejected in 1931 by club delegates and they entered the Western and Moira Ridings Football Association. Moama Recreation Reserve
Moama ( or ) is a town in the Riverina district of southern New South Wales, Australia, in the Murray River Council local government area. The town is directly across the Murray River from the larger town of Echuca in the neighbouring state of Victoria, to which it is connected by a bridge. At the 2016 census, Moama had a population of 5,620. History Maiden's Punt The settlement where Moama now stands was founded by James Maiden in the mid-1840s, beginning as a stopping-point for stock and cargo waiting to cross the Murray River by punt. Maiden arrived in the district in 1840; he had been hired to caretake Jeffries' station about from the junction of the Campaspe River and the Murray River. The Essendon Football Club, nicknamed the Bombers, is a professional Australian rules football club. The club plays in the Australian Football League (AFL), the game's premier competition. The club was formed by the McCracken family in their Ascot Vale, Victoria, Ascot Vale home "Alisa", and while the exact date is unknown, it is generally accepted to have been in 1872. Chris Egan (footballer)
Chris Egan (born 26 October 1986) is a former professional Australian rules footballer who played for the Collingwood Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). Career Egan was picked up by Collingwood with their first round draft pick, tenth overall, in the 2004 AFL draft. He had represented Victoria Country in the 2004 AFL National Under 18 Championships. Egan made his debut for Collingwood against Richmond in round 8 of the 2005 AFL season, and only missed two games for the remainder of the year. He played a total of 24 games for 21 goals in 2005 and 2006, but only played three games in the following two seasons before being delisted in September 2008. Brad Dick (born 25 July 1988) is a former Australian rules footballer who played for the West Coast Eagles and the Collingwood Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). A small, speedy wingman from Western Australia, Dick was selected by the Magpies with the 44th pick in the 2006 AFL Draft. The West Coast Eagles are a professional Australian rules football club based in Perth, Western Australia. The club was founded in 1986 as one of two expansion teams in the Australian Football League (AFL), then known as the Victorian Football League.
