Rui Rocha
Rui Nuno de Oliveira Garcia da Rocha (born 13 March 1970) is a Portuguese people, Portuguese politician who is the current President of the Liberal Initiative and a member of the Assembly of the Republic (Portugal), Assembly of the Republic. Biography Born in Lobito, Portuguese Angola, Rocha moved to Braga as a child. He is married and has two children. He graduated with a law degree from the Catholic University of Portugal in Porto and was a guest assistant on law courses at the Moderna University. He works as a lawyer, legal consultant and director of human resources, in the fields of construction, motoring, finance and specialised retail. Rocha joined the Liberal Initiative in August 2020. He worked on Tiago Mayan Gonçalves's campaign in the 2021 Portuguese presidential election. Liberal Initiative (Portugal)
The Liberal Initiative ( pt, Iniciativa Liberal, , IL) is a liberalism, liberal list of political parties in Portugal, political party in Portugal currently led by João Cotrim de Figueiredo. In 2019, its debut year at the Portuguese legislative elections, the party 2019 Portuguese legislative election, won one seat in the Portuguese Parliament. 2022 Portuguese Legislative Election
Early legislative elections were held on 30 January 2022 in Portugal to elect members of the Assembly of the Republic to the 15th Legislature of the Third Portuguese Republic. All 230 seats to the Assembly of the Republic were up for election. On 27 October 2021, the budget proposed by the Socialist minority government was rejected by the Assembly of the Republic. The Left Bloc (BE) and the Portuguese Communist Party (PCP), both of whom had previously supported the government, joined the centre-right to right-wing opposition parties and rejected the budget. On 4 November 2021, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, the president of Portugal, announced a snap election to be held on 30 January 2022. Chega (; officially stylised as CHEGA!; ) is a national conservative, right-wing populist political party in Portugal formed in 2019 by André Ventura. It is characterized as being between the right-wing and far-right of the political spectrum. Its inclusion in the register of Portuguese political parties was accepted by the Constitutional Court on 9 April 2019. The Social Democratic Party ( pt, Partido Social Democrata, ; PSD) is a liberal-conservative political party in Portugal. Commonly known by its colloquial initials PSD, on ballot papers its initials appear as its official form PPD/PSD, with the first three letters coming from the party's original name, the Democratic People's Party (, PPD).
