Rugby union in Poland is a minor, but growing sport and currently, the Polish men`s national team are ranked 30th in the world as of 20th November 2022. Governing body Polish Rugby Union (Polski Związek Rugby) was founded in 1957, and joined the International Rugby Football Board in 1988.Bath, Richard (ed.) Budowlani Łódź
Budowlani Łódź (Klub Sportowy Budowlani Łódź) is a sports club based in Łódź, Poland. The club was founded in 1948. The club participates in many men's and women's sports. They are primarily known as a rugby club but also compete in volleyball, hockey, Judo and wrestling. They compete in the national men's Rugby Ekstraliga and have won it five times. Budowlani translates to English as 'builders', reflecting the club's origins. The club still often host road builders and other construction workers in the accommodation above the clubhouse. The club's main facility is located at Gornica Street north of Lodz city centre. There are two rugby pitches, changing rooms, a gym, a bar/restaurant and accommodation. FIRA – Association Of European Rugby
Rugby Europe is the administrative body for rugby union in Europe. It was formed in 1999 to promote, develop, organise, and administer the game of rugby in Europe under the authority of World Rugby (the sport's global governing body). However, it is not responsible for the organisation of the Six Nations Championship or the competitions run by European Professional Club Rugby (the European Rugby Champions Cup and Challenge Cup). The predecessor to Rugby Europe was the Fédération Internationale de Rugby Amateur (FIRA), which was established in 1934 to administer rugby union in Europe outside the authority of the International Rugby Football Board (as World Rugby was then called), and came to spread outside the continent. The European Rugby Champions Cup (known as the Heineken Champions Cup for sponsorship reasons) is an annual rugby union tournament organised by European Professional Club Rugby (EPCR). It is the top-tier competition for clubs who compete in a predominantly European league. Clubs qualify for the Champions Cup via their final positions in their respective national/regional leagues (English Premiership, French Top 14, and United Rugby Championship) or via winning the second-tier Challenge Cup; those that do not qualify are instead eligible to compete in the second-tier Challenge Cup. Club Athlétique Brive Corrèze Limousin, also referred to as CA Brive, Brive () or CAB, is a French professional rugby union club based in Brive-la-Gaillarde, in the Corrèze department. They compete in the first-tier Top 14 competition. Brive is a historical member of French rugby union, being one of the clubs that spent the most seasons in the best French domestic competition. Rugby tens, also known as ten-a-side and Xs, is a variant of rugby union in which teams are made up of ten players, typically five Rugby union positions#Forwards, forwards and five Rugby union positions#Backs, backs. Matches are much shorter, usually played as two ten-minute halves. Unlike the other two major rugby union variants - sevens and beach rugby - which were invented in major rugby nations, rugby tens was developed in Malaysia, a nation that has never qualified for the Rugby World Cup. Brive RFC
Brive-la-Gaillarde (; Limousin dialect of oc, Briva la Galharda) is a commune of France. It is a sub-prefecture and the largest city of the Corrèze department. It has around 46,000 inhabitants, while the population of the agglomeration was 75,579 in 2019. Although it is by far the biggest commune in Corrèze, the capital is Tulle. Henri Sanz (born Versailles, 17 June 1963) was a French rugby union player. He played as a scrum-half. Sanz first played for Electrogaz Toulouse, then in SC Graulhet, moving afterwards to RC Narbonne, where he would spend most of his career. He reached the post of captain and won three titles of the Cup of France, in 1988/89, 1989/90 and 1990/91. He was a runner-up twice for the title of French Champion, in 1987/88 and 1988/89.
