Budowlani Łódź
Budowlani Łódź (Klub Sportowy Budowlani Łódź) is a sports club based in Łódź, Poland. The club was founded in 1948. The club participates in many men's and women's sports. They are primarily known as a rugby club but also compete in volleyball, hockey, Judo and wrestling. They compete in the national men's Rugby Ekstraliga and have won it five times. Budowlani translates to English as 'builders', reflecting the club's origins. The club still often host road builders and other construction workers in the accommodation above the clubhouse. The club's main facility is located at Gornica Street north of Lodz city centre. There are two rugby pitches, changing rooms, a gym, a bar/restaurant and accommodation. There is also a hall at Brukowa street which houses an indoor hall for sports such as Judo, Volleyball and Wrestling. It is also used for indoor winter training. Łódź, also rendered in English as Lodz, is a city in central Poland and a former industrial centre. It is the capital of Łódź Voivodeship, and is located approximately south-west of Warsaw. Polish extra league in rugby union (formerly I Liga, Series A) - the highest level of men's rugby union league games of fifteen-person teams in Poland. The competition takes place cyclically (every season, from autumn to spring) in a circular system as the national championship and is intended for the best Polish rugby clubs. They are organized by the Polish Rugby Union. Rugby Football
Rugby football is the collective name for the team sports of rugby union and rugby league. Volleyball is a team sport in which two teams of six players are separated by a net. Each team tries to score points by grounding a ball on the other team's court under organized rules. Field Hockey
Field hockey is a team sport structured in standard hockey format, in which each team plays with ten outfield players and a goalkeeper. Teams must drive a round hockey ball by hitting it with a hockey stick towards the rival team's shooting circle and then into the goal. The match is won by the team that scores the most goals. Matches are played on grass, watered turf, artificial turf, synthetic field, or indoor boarded surface. The stick is made of wood, carbon fibre, fibreglass, or a combination of carbon fibre and fibreglass in different quantities.
