Rudolf Nuude
Rudolf Nuude (25 June 1909, in Gdov, Pskov Governorate – 2 September 1980, in Tallinn) was an Estonian actor. From 1931 until 1936 he worked at Narva Theatre. From 1936 until 1938, and again from 1949 until 1968, at Estonian Drama Theatre. From 1938 until 1942, he was engaged as an actor at the at Tallinn Töölisteater, and 1942 until 1949 at the Estonia Theatre Estonia Theatre is an historic building in Tallinn, Estonia, which houses the Estonian National Opera and the Estonian National Symphony Orchestra. Gdov
Gdov (russian: Гдов) is a town and the administrative center of Gdovsky District in Pskov Oblast, Russia, located on the river Gdovka, just from its outflow into Lake Peipus. Population: History It was first mentioned in the beginning of the 14th century, as an outpost guarding the city of Pskov. Between 1431 and 1434, Pskovians built a fortress there, the remains of which can still be seen. It was attacked on numerous occasions by the Swedes and the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth (e.g., during the Russo–Swedish War (1590–1595) and the Ingrian War), and captured by the Swedes in 1614, but was finally returned to Russia in 1617 according to the Treaty of Stolbovo. Pskov Governorate
Pskov Governorate (russian: link=no, Псковская губерния, ''Pskovskaya guberniya'') was an administrative division (a '' guberniya'') of the Russian Empire and Russian SFSR, which existed from 1772 until 1777 and from 1796 until 1927. Its seat was located in Opochka between 1772 and 1776, and in Pskov after 1776. Mati Nuude
Mati Nuude (18 February 1941 – 10 March 2001) was an Estonian weightlifter and singer. Nuude was born in Tallinn to a family of an Estonian officer, Lieutenant Albert Nuude, who was arrested by the NKVD and died in a Soviet prison camp. In 1949 Nuude, his mother, grandmother and brother were deported to Northern Kazakhstan. They were allowed to return to Estonia in 1958. His uncle was actor Rudolf Nuude. His coach in weightlifting was Alfred Neuland. Estonia Theatre
Estonia Theatre is an historic building in Tallinn, Estonia, which houses the Estonian National Opera and the Estonian National Symphony Orchestra. The original Jugendstil building was designed by Finnish architects Armas Lindgren and Wivi Lönn. It was built as a national effort with the leadership of Estonia society in 1913 and was opened to the public on 24 August. At the time, it was the largest building in Tallinn. The theatre was heavily damaged in the Soviet air raid on Tallinn on 9 March 1944. It was reconstructed in a classical and Stalinist style, and reopened in 1947.In 1946, it served as the home of the newly created Tallinn Ballet School and was the location of the debut of one of the graduates of the school's first class, Helmi Puur.
