Rubin Balang
Rubin bin Balang is a Malaysian people, Malaysian politician who has served as Member of the Sabah State Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Kemabong (state constituency), Kemabong from February 1994 to May 2018 and again since September 2020. He is an official member and Vice President II of the Parti Gagasan Rakyat Sabah, Sabah People's Ideas Party (Gagasan Rakyat) which is a component party of the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) coalition. He is also the father of Riduan Rubin, the Dewan Rakyat, Independent Member of Parliament (MP) for Tenom (federal constituency), Tenom. The Malay language has a complex system of styles, titles and honorifics which are used extensively in Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, and the southern Philippines. Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (abbrev:GRS; en, Sabah People's Alliance), also officially known as the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah Party or for shorts GRS Party is an official registered political coalition and the current ruling coalition in Sabah. 1994 Sabah State Election
The 1994 Sabah state election was held between Friday, 18 February and Saturday, 19 February 1994. Nomination day was 7 February 1994. The election was one of the most controversial election in Sabah's political history. The election was won by the incumbent ruling party (although the opposition at federal level) Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS), winning 25 state electorates against 23 won by the federal government's ruling Barisan Nasional coalition. However, due to defections by elected PBS assemblymen by way of establishments of new parties aligned to BN shortly after the election, PBS was forced out of power resulting in BN forming government in Sabah. The outcome of this election and the defections resulted in the term ''katak'' being coined in, the literal meaning of which is "frog", due to the actions of PBS members "jumping" to another political party. Sabah People's Hope Party
Sabah People's Hope Party or ms, Parti Harapan Rakyat Sabah (Harapan Rakyat / HR ) is a Sabah-based party. The party was formed on 25 October 2016, founded by Lajim Ukin. It was previously a party in the alliance of United Sabah Alliance (USA) from 2017 until 2018. In 2019, Harapan Rakyat planned and was supposed to hold an extraordinary general meeting (EGM) to dissolve the party and absorb its 64,000 members into Malaysian United Indigenous Party (BERSATU) at the launch of the party's Sabah chapter on 6 April 2019 in Kota Kinabalu. Democratic Action Party (Malaysia)
The Democratic Action Party (abbreviation: DAP; ms, Parti Tindakan Demokratik; ; ta, ஜனநாயக செயல் கட்சி) is a centre-left social democratic political party in Malaysia. As one of four component parties of the Pakatan Harapan (PH) coalition, it formed the federal government after defeating Barisan Nasional in the 2018 Malaysian general election, ending the party's 53 year-long stay in the opposition. Noorita binti Sual (born 28 April 1980) is a Malaysian politician and lawyer who has served as a Senator since March 2023. She served as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Tenom from May 2018 to November 2022. She is a member of the Democratic Action Party (DAP), a component party of the Pakatan Harapan (PH) coalition. 2018 Malaysian General Election
The 2018 Malaysian General Election, formally known as the 14th Malaysian General Election (), was held on Wednesday, 9 May 2018, for members of the 14th Parliament of Malaysia. At stake were all 222 seats in the Dewan Rakyat (the legislature's lower house) and 505 seats in 12 out of the 13 state legislative assemblies of Malaysia. The Dewan Rakyat (English: 'House of Representatives'; ) is the lower house of the bicameral Parliament, the federal legislature of Malaysia. The chamber and its powers are established by Article 44 of the Constitution of Malaysia.
