Rubenstein Stadium, also known as "Moe Rubenstein Stadium", is a sports stadium in Ambridge, Pennsylvania, in the western suburbs of Pittsburgh. Ambridge, Pennsylvania
Ambridge is a borough in Beaver County, Pennsylvania, United States. Incorporated in 1905 as a company town by the American Bridge Company, Ambridge is located 16 miles (25 km) northwest of Pittsburgh, along the Ohio River. The population was 6,960 at the 2020 census. History Early history The town is near the location of Legionville, the training camp for General "Mad" Anthony Wayne's Legion of the United States. Wayne's was the first attempt to provide basic training for regular U.S. Army recruits and Legionville was the first facility established expressly for this purpose. The Harmony Society first settled the area in the early 19th century, founding the village of "Ökonomie" or Economy in 1824. Although initially successful, accumulating significant landholdings, the sect went into decline. By the end of the 19th century, only a few Harmonists remained. Pittsburgh Passion
The Pittsburgh Passion is a women's American football team based in the Pittsburgh metropolitan area. The franchise was formed in March 2002 and is currently owned by Teresa Conn, Anthony Misitano, and the estate of Franco Harris. The team is a part of the Women's Football Alliance, with home games played at West Allegheny High School in Imperial, Pennsylvania. History In 2003, the Passion played its home games at Belle Vernon, Pennsylvania, Belle Vernon Area High School. The team finished its inaugural season with a 2–6 record. The average attendance at each of their four home games that season was between 2,500 and 3,000 fans. In 2004 season, the Passion changed its home stadium to Ambridge High School's Rubenstein Stadium, Moe Rubenstein Stadium. The team improved its regular season record to 6–2, just missing the playoffs as a Northern Conference wildcard team. The Pittsburgh Force is an inactive women's American Football team based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Home games were last played at William V. Campbell Athletic Field in nearby Munhall. In the early planning stages, the Force was originally planning to play in the National Women's Football Association, but after the NWFA folded, they decided to join the upstart Women's Football Alliance. History In 2008, Robert Gold was selected as the team's first head coach. They held tryouts in Ambridge, Cranberry, and Chartiers Valley for their inaugural 2009 season.
