Royce Metchie
Royce Metchie (born September 11, 1996) is a professional Canadian football defensive back for the Toronto Argonauts of the Canadian Football League (CFL). University career Metchie played U Sports football for the Guelph Gryphons from 2014 to 2017. Professional career Calgary Stampeders Metchie was drafted by the Stampeders in the third round, 25th overall, in the 2018 CFL Draft and signed with the team on May 14, 2018. He began the 2018 season on the practice roster, but was soon elevated to the active roster and played in his first game on June 28, 2018, against the Ottawa Redblacks. He dressed in seven regular season games in his rookie season and recorded five special teams tackles. He was on the practice roster during the playoffs when he shared in the Stampeders' 106th Grey Cup victory. In gridiron football, defensive backs (DBs), also called the secondary, are the players on the defensive side of the ball who play farthest back from the line of scrimmage. Adam Berger
Adam Berger (born June 28, 1990) is a former Canadian football defensive back. He is a two time Grey Cup champion, having won in 2014 and 2018 with the Calgary Stampeders. Early career Berger played high school football at Lord Tweedsmuir Secondary School as a quarterback. In 2007, he was named the province's Player of the Year. He played college football for the Simon Fraser Clan from 2008 to 2012. Berger was a medical redshirt in 2008 and played only one game in 2009. In 29 games from 2010 to 2012, he recorded 117 total tackles, eight interceptions including three touchdowns, and two forced fumbles. During his final year, he also contributed as a kicker. The 2022 NFL Draft was the 87th edition of the National Football League's annual draft and was held from April 28–30, 2022, at the Caesars Forum on the Las Vegas Strip in Paradise, Nevada. The first round was held on Thursday, April 28, and was followed by the second and third rounds on Friday, April 29. The draft concluded with rounds 4–7 on Saturday, April 30. John Metchie III
John Metchie III (born July 18, 2000) is a Canadian gridiron football wide receiver for the Houston Texans of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Alabama, winning the Jon Cornish Trophy twice prior to being drafted by the Texans in the second round of the 2022 NFL Draft. The 109th Grey Cup decided the Canadian Football League (CFL) championship for the 2022 season. The game was played on November 20, at Mosaic Stadium in Regina, Saskatchewan. It marked the fourth Grey Cup game to be held in Regina, and the first to be held at the new Mosaic Stadium as opposed to Taylor Field.
