Royal Flight Of Oman
The Royal Flight of Oman (RFO) is the VIP air transport capability embedded within the Sultan of Oman's Royal Household.the Royal Flight is a non-military organisation and part of the Diwan of Royal Court Affairs; it is not part of the Royal Guard of Oman. The RFO was formed in 1974 and started with a few fixed wing aircraft, rotary wing aircraft were added in 1975. The RFO has its own staff housing and welfare complex (including a club and an international school) on Al Matar Street near Muscat International Airport. Bases The RFO has one permanent operating base and a secondary base: * Muscat International Airport - in a segregated and separately secured VIP terminal and hangar area * Salalah International Airport - is used regularly and there is a segregated and separately secured VIP terminal supporting RFO activities. Nizwa
Nizwa ( ar, نِزْوَى, Nizwā) is the largest city in Ad Dakhiliyah Region in Oman and was the capital of Oman proper. Nizwa is about (1.5 hours) from Muscat. The population is estimated at around 72,000 people, including the two areas of Burkat Al Mooz and Al-Jabel Al-Akhdar. Nizwa is one of the oldest cities in Oman and it was once a center of trade, religion, education and art. Its Jama (grand mosque) was formerly a center for Islamic learning. Nizwa acquired its importance because it has been an important meeting point at the base of the Western Hajar Mountains. Qaboos bin Said Al Said ( ar, قابوس بن سعيد آل سعيد, ; 18 November 1940 – 10 January 2020) was Sultan of Oman from 23 July 1970 until his death in 2020. A fifteenth-generation descendant of the founder of the House of Al Said, he was the longest-serving leader in the Middle East and Arab world at the time of his death, having ruled for almost half a century. The only son of Said bin Taimur, Sultan of Muscat and Oman, Qaboos was educated in Suffolk, England. After graduating from the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, he served briefly in the British Army. The Gulfstream G550 is a business jet aircraft produced by General Dynamics' Gulfstream Aerospace unit in Savannah, Georgia, US. The certification designation is GV-SP.
