Roy Mitchell (baseball)
Albert Roy Mitchell (April 19, 1885 – September 8, 1959) was a professional baseball player. He was a right-handed pitcher over parts of seven seasons (1910–1914, 1918–1919) with the St. Louis Browns, Chicago White Sox and Cincinnati Reds. For his career, he compiled a 32–37 record in 122 appearances, with a 3.42 earned run average and 204 strikeouts. Mitchell was a member of the 1919 World Series champion Cincinnati Reds, though he did not play in the World Series. He was born in Belton, Texas and later died in Temple, Texas at the age of 74. Roy Mitchell-Cárdenas (born July 25, 1977 in Houston, Texas) is an American musician, writer, and multi-instrumentalist. He was the bassist (and sometimes guitarist) for the rock band Mutemath, as well as the bassist for Earthsuit. Mitchell-Cárdenas has been playing in bands since he was twelve years old and has worked as a session musician and producer for many groups. In addition to bass guitar, he plays upright bass, guitar, drums and keyboards. Roy Matthews Mitchell (4 February 1884 – 27 July 1944) was a Canadian-American theatre practitioner who played an important role in little theatre in Canada and the United States. He was involved in the creation and was the first artistic director of the Hart House Theatre at the University of Toronto, and was an influence on Vincent Massey, Herman Voaden and Mavor Moore. In 1974 Moore wrote "in 1929, Roy Mitchell was a voice crying in the near-wilderness of Canada" and called him "the seer who said it all on our own doorstep nearly half a century ago."
