Roy Bell (politician)
Roy Mackenzie Bell (20 March 1885 – 20 August 1953) was a member of the Queensland Legislative Assembly. Biography Bell was born at Denman, New South Wales, the son of Federick Samuel Bell and his wife Mary Charlotte (née Mackenzie). He was educated at The King's School, Parramatta and owned or managed a series of Stations in Queensland and New South Wales. Electoral District Of Stanley (Queensland)
The electoral district of Stanley was a Legislative Assembly electorate in the state of Queensland. History Stanley was created by the ''Electoral Districts Act'' of 1872 as a single-member seat (taking effect from 1873). From 1878 it became a two-member constituency through incorporation of part of the Electoral district of West Moreton from which it had been derived in 1872. Stanley was abolished in the 1949 redistribution which placed most of it in the new Electoral district of Somerset. Esk Shire
The Shire of Esk was a local government area in South East Queensland, Australia, located about west - northwest of Brisbane. It stretched from the Lockyer Valley north and west to the Great Dividing Range and up the valley of the Brisbane River. Esk covered an area of , and existed from 1879 until its merger with the Shire of Kilcoy to form the Somerset Region on 15 March 2008. History The Durundur Division was incorporated on 11 November 1879 under the ''Divisional Boards Act 1879'' with a population of 1428. Its name was changed to Esk Division on 2 June 1880 by proclamation. On 18 January 1884, there was an adjustment of boundaries between Highfields Division's subdivisions Nos. 1 and 2 and Esk Division. St John's Cathedral is the cathedral of the Anglican Diocese of Brisbane and the metropolitan cathedral of the ecclesiastical province of Queensland, Australia.
