Roxane Noat-Notari
Roxane Noat-Notari (1913 – 27 March 2004) was a Monegasque politician. In 1963 she was elected to the National Council, becoming its first female member. Biography Noat-Notari was one of seven children of Dinah and Louis Notari, a writer and poet. She was elected to the Communal Council in the 1955 municipal elections, and was re-elected in 1958 and 1963. National Council (Monaco)
The National Council (french: Conseil national) is the parliament (legislative body) of the Principality of Monaco. The body is composed of twenty-four members, who are elected from lists by universal suffrage. Councillors serve for five-year terms, and though it may act independently of the Prince, he may dissolve it at any time, provided that new elections be held within three months. The Council meets at least twice per year to vote on the country's budget and bills proposed by the prince's government. Ordinances (executive orders) are debated in the Council of Government, and once approved, must be submitted to the Sovereign Prince within eighty days for his signature, which makes them legally enforceable. If he does not express opposition within ten days of submission, they become valid. The current President of the National Council is Brigitte Boccone-Pagès. Association Des Guides Et Scouts De Monaco
Monaco has one of the world's smallest national Scouting and Guiding organizations, the Association des Guides et Scouts de Monaco (AGSM). The association has about 84 members (61 Scouts (as of 2010), 23 Guides (as of 2003)). Its headquarters is located in the presbytery of the Sacred Heart parish church in Moneghetti. The Monegasque Scout organization was under the patronage of French Scouting since 1918, and became an independent member of the World Organization of the Scout Movement in 1990. The first Guide company in Monaco formed in 1929, and Guiding developed under the Guides de France. In 1953 work began on forming an independent Guide association which was achieved in 1956, and became a member of the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts in 1963. The World Association of Children's Friends (AMADE) is a charity organization founded by Grace, Princess of Monaco, to support the development, education, and health of children worldwide. AMADE operates through a network of 12 local organisations in Europe, Asia, South-America and Africa. Communal Council Of Monaco
The Communal Council is the body responsible for the civil administration of the four ''quartiers'' of the Principality of Monaco. Because Monaco is both a nation and a city, the council chooses the mayor of Monaco and his/her officers. It consists of fifteen members, elected by direct universal suffrage to four-year terms, and a mayor, selected by the members. It meets every three months. The main responsibilities of the City Council and the Mayor concern the social and cultural spheres. These responsibilities include support for daycares, home care for seniors, and the Academy of music, as well as organization of elections, granting of marriage licenses, and encouraging engagement in the life of the city.
