Route 282 (Oregon)
Oregon Route 282 is a state highway running from OR 281 north of Odell to OR 35 east of Odell within the U.S. state of Oregon. OR 282 is known as the Odell Highway No. 282 (see Oregon highways and routes). It is long and runs northwest to southeast (signed west and east), entirely within Hood River County. OR 282 was established in 2002 as part of Oregon's project to assign route numbers to highways that previously were not assigned. Route description OR 282 begins at an intersection with OR 281 five miles (8 km) south of Hood River and heads south approximately miles to Odell. At Odell, OR 282 turns east and continues approximately one mile to an intersection with OR 35 where it ends. History OR 282 was assigned to the Odell Highway in 2002. Odell, Oregon
Odell is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) in Hood River County, Oregon, United States. Odell was named for an early pioneer, William Odell, a native of Tennessee by way of California, who settled in the area in 1861. The population was 2,255 as of the 2010 census. Geography Odell is in northeastern Hood River County, in the valley of Odell Creek, a tributary of the Hood River. It is south of the city of Hood River, the county seat. According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of , all land. Climate This region experiences warm (but not hot) and dry summers, with no average monthly temperatures above 71.6 °F. Oregon Route 35 is a state highway in the U.S. state of Oregon, running between Government Camp on the slopes of Mount Hood and the city of Hood River. OR 35 traverses part of the Mt. Hood Highway No. 26 (Mount Hood Scenic Byway) and part of the Historic Columbia River Highway No. 100 of the Oregon state highway system. The city of Hood River is the seat of Hood River County, Oregon, United States. It is a port on the Columbia River, and is named for the nearby Hood River.
