Daniel A. Rossignol, MD, FAAFP, is a family medicine doctor. Rossignol runs the Rossignol Medical Center, with offices in Melbourne, Florida and in Aliso Viejo, California. He also works at the Wisconsin Integrative Hyperbaric Center in Fitchburg, Wisconsin, and is a member of the physician advisory board for The Autism Community in Action (TACA; formerly Talk About Curing Autism). The Battle of Rossignol (22 August 1914) one of the first battles of the First World War, was part of the Battle of the Frontiers on the Western Front between the German and French armies. To counter the German invasion of Belgium, the French commander-in-chief, General Joseph Joffre, ordered an attack upon the centre of the German front. The attack was to be conducted by the French Fourth Army comprising the Colonial Corps and II Corps. Simultaneously, the German army turned the 5th Army southwards towards the French border. The French Colonial Corps advanced towards Neufchâteau expecting the nearest German forces to be several days march away. Jean Antoine Rossignol (7 November 1759 – 27 April 1802) was a general of the French Revolutionary Wars. Life Early life Rossignol began his ''Memoirs'', published in 1820 by Victor Barrucand, with the words: "I was not born into a poor family. My father, who died before I was born, was a Bourguignon. He came to Paris and, after some years, he sought to marry. He thus got to know my mother and they married. Of the five children they had, I was the last." In 1774, aged 14, after 3 years' apprenticeship as a goldsmith, Rossignol, full of illusions and wanting to be his own master, left for the provinces. Lake Rossignol is the largest freshwater lake in Nova Scotia, Canada. It is located in the south-western interior of the province. History As a reservoir, it was created in 1929 when the Bowater Mersey Paper Company Limited dammed the Mersey River at Indian Gardens to generate electricity for a pulp mill downstream in Brooklyn. The reservoir includes over a dozen former lakes, including First Lake, Second Lake, Third Lake (also known as Lake Rossignol), Fourth Lake, Fifth Lake, Yeadon Lake, Davis Lake, Kempton Lake, Low Lake, Menchan Lake, Lacey Lake, and Annis Lake. The Rossignol ENT was an experimental automatic rifle of French origin from the first years of the 20th century. It was the first rifle which used the direct impingement operating system, which found later use in the Swedish Ag m/42, the French 1940 MAS and, most notably, the AR-10 and AR-15 series of rifles.
