Rosman, North Carolina
Rosman is a town in Transylvania County, North Carolina, United States. The population was 576 at the 2010 census. The northern terminus of U.S. Route 178 is less than one mile northwest of Rosman on U.S. Route 64. The Pisgah Astronomical Research Institute is located approximately six miles north of Rosman, near Balsam Grove. History Known first by European Americans as Jeptha, the settlement was known as "Toxaway" in the early 20th century. Because this caused confusion with the nearby resort town of Lake Toxaway (10 miles to the west), in 1903 the name was changed to "Eastatoe," the name of a historic Cherokee town in the area. It was also the name for nearby Eastatoe Gap and Eastatoe Falls. The Cherokee word for the Carolina parakeet was ''eastatoe.'' Town residents promoted another change, and Joseph Silversteen (a local industrialist) suggested Rosman in 1905, after two of his business associates, Joseph Rosenthal and Morris Osmansky. Rosman García
Rosman José García (January 3, 1979 – December 29, 2011) was a Venezuelan professional baseball relief pitcher who played in Major League Baseball (MLB) from 2003 through 2004 for the Texas Rangers. Listed at 6' 2", 215 lb., he batted and threw right handed. Career In part of two seasons, García posted a 1–2 record with 30 strikeouts and a 5.94 ERA in 53 innings pitched. On June 16, 1999, García became the first starting pitcher in Staten Island Yankees history. In 2008, he pitched for the Mexico City Red Devils of the Mexican League. Rosman Sulaiman (born 6 November 1982) is a Singaporean footballer who plays for S.League side, Woodlands Wellington. He is a versatile player who is able to play in a variety of positions across the backline, as well in as the left, right or centre of midfield. Alice Grant Rosman
Alice Grant Rosman (18 July 1882 — 20 August 1961) (born Alice Trevenen Rosman) was an Australian novelist. Writing career Alice Rosman was born in Kapunda, South Australia. She had one sister called Mary and the two girls attended St Mary's Convent, Franklin Street, Adelaide until 1889. In 1901, she started the Girl's Realm Guide in Adelaide. The Girls' Realm Guild published one of Rosman's books, "The Young Queen". Rosman published some of her early stories in ''The Observer'' and '' The Chronicle'', and began her professional career working on C.J. Dennis's '' Gadfly'' in 1906. After this, she worked for ''The Daily Herald'' and wrote a weekly Adelaide gossip column for '' The Bulletin'' from 1908 to 1911. Carl Rosman is an Australian clarinettist, singer and conductor. Rosman studied with Phillip Miechel in Melbourne, then with Peter Jenkin at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. He has performed in Europe, Asia, Australasia and both North and South America as a soloist. Stacey Marinkovich (born 25 February 1981), previously known as Stacey Rosman, is a former Australian netball player and current netball coach. During the Commonwealth Bank Trophy era she played for Queensland Firebirds and Perth Orioles. In the ANZ Championship era she played for West Coast Fever. She captained both Orioles and Fever. Pisgah Astronomical Research Institute (PARI) (pronounced ''perry'') is a non-profit astronomical observatory located in the Pisgah National Forest near Balsam Grove, North Carolina. PARI operates multiple radio telescopes and optical telescopes for research and teaching purposes. Rosman Ferries
Rosman Ferries operates ferry services on Sydney Harbour. History Rosman Ferries was founded by Charles Rosman in 1916, when he launched a ferry service between Balmain, North Sydney and Garden Island carrying dockyard workers to the Royal Australian Navy base. This service ran until 1981. Rosman Ferris also provided transportation for workers from Balmain to the Harbour Bridge during its construction in the late 1920s and early 1930s as well as spectator ferries for the Sydney Flying Squadron 18-foot skiff races.
