Rosing Prize
The Rosing Prizes are awarded to people who have made contributions to the Norwegian IT community, it is the Norwegian Computer Society (Den Norske Dataforening) that organizes the award ceremony. The Norwegian Computer Society was established in 1953 in Oslo and has over 8500 members, making it one of the oldest computer societies in Europe. It is also a member of the International Federation for Information Processing, the Council of European Professional Informatics Societies (CEPSIS) and the Nordic Data Union (NDU). The association awarded its first Rosing prize in 1991 and named it after the Norwegian IT-pioneer Fredrik Rosing Bull. Rosing Prizes are distributed as part of the Norwegian IT industry's own party ceremony. The prizes are available in several different categories, but not all are awarded annually. Lars Monrad-Krohn
Lars Monrad-Krohn (born July 14, 1933) is a Norwegian engineer and entrepreneur. He graduated from the Norwegian Institute of Technology, Institute for Radio Technology, (NTH, Institutt for Radioteknikk) in 1959. His master thesis addressed construction of computer core memory and was the first computer-oriented thesis handed in at NTH. As an entrepreneur, Monrad-Krohn established Norsk Data AS in 1967 (CEO 1967-1972), established A/S Mycron in 1975 (CEO 1975-1982), and established Tiki-Data in 1984 (CEO 1984-1996). Georg Apenes
Georg Apenes (5 April 1940 – 2 October 2016) was a Norwegian politician and jurist. Career Apenes was born in Fredrikstad. After finishing secondary education, he briefly worked as a substitute school teacher in his hometown in 1960 before entering Franklin and Marshall College as a part of the Fulbright Program. He studied there for a year before being enrolled in the Norwegian officers' training school. He finished his studies in 1969, when he graduated with the cand.jur. degree from the University of Oslo. While studying in Oslo he had been chairman of the Norwegian Students' Society during the student-led Protests of 1968. He then went to Vest-Telemark to work as a deputy judge. Pål Spilling
Pål Spilling (October 29, 1934 – January 16, 2018) was a Norwegian Internet pioneer and professor at the University of Oslo and the UNIK Graduate Center at Kjeller in Norway. He obtained his cand.real. degree in physics from the University of Oslo in 1963. In January 1964 he started on a PhD program at Utrecht University in The Netherlands, and finished his degree in summer 1968 in experimental low-energy neutron physics. Subsequently he joined the nuclear physics group at Eindhoven University of Technology in The Netherlands. Arne Halaas (born 20 September 1943) is a Norwegian profiled Professor emeritus in computer technology and telematics at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU).
