Until 1 January 2007 Rosenholm municipality was a municipality (Danish language, Danish, ''Municipalities of Denmark, kommune'') in the former Aarhus County on the east coast of the Jutland peninsula in central Denmark just north of Aarhus and is more or less a suburb today. The municipality covered an area of 141 km2, and had a total population of 10.325 (2005). Its last mayor was Richard Volander, a member of the Venstre (Denmark), Venstre (Liberal Party) Politics of Denmark, political party. The main town and the site of its municipal council was the town of Hornslet. Rosenholm municipality ceased to exist as the result of Municipalities of Denmark#Municipal Reform 2007, ''Kommunalreformen'' ("The Municipality Reform" of 2007). Danish Language
Danish (; , ) is a North Germanic language spoken by about six million people, principally in and around Denmark. Hornslet is a town located in East Jutland, on the southwestern part of the Djursland peninsula, Denmark. It is a commuter town of the city of Aarhus, which lies approximately 28 kilometers to the southwest, and a railway town at Grenaabanen, the railroad between the cities of Aarhus and Grenaa. Rønde (or Roende) is a town on the southern part of the peninsula, Djursland in Denmark, Northern Europe, 23 kilometers north-east of the north end of Denmark's second largest city, Aarhus. It is in part a commuter town to Aarhus, with a motorway entering Aarhus from the north. Rønde is located between Aarhus, and Aarhus Airport with a 12 kilometer drive from Rønde to the airport.
