Rosenborg Castle ( da, Rosenborg Slot) is a renaissance architecture, renaissance castle located in Copenhagen, Denmark. The castle was originally built as a country summerhouse in 1606 and is an example of Christian IV of Denmark, Christian IV's many architectural projects. It was built in the Renaissance architecture, Dutch Renaissance style, typical of Danish buildings during this period, and has been expanded several times, finally evolving into its present condition by the year 1624. Architecture, Architects Bertel Lange and Hans van Steenwinckel the Younger are associated with the structural planning of the castle. History The castle was used by Danish regents as a royal residence until around 1710. After the reign of Frederick IV of Denmark, Frederik IV, Rosenborg was used as a royal residence only twice, and both these times were during emergencies. Rosenborg () is a neighbourhood in the city of Trondheim in Trøndelag county, Norway. It is located in the borough of Østbyen. It is located east of Møllenberg, south of Lademoen, north of Tyholt, and west of Persaunet. The eastern part of Rosenborg also borders to Kristiansten Fortress and the surrounding park. The area is mostly residential, both houses and apartments. There is also a large amateur football arena that among others hosts the women's team Trondheims-Ørn. The area also has given name to the Norwegian Premier League team Rosenborg Ballklub, that now is located at Lerkendal. Rosenborg (station)
Rosenborg, formerly Uranienborgveien is at tram stop on the Briskeby Line of the Oslo Tramway. It is located in Josefines gate, close to its street junction with Bogstadveien. It serves the neighborhoods , Hegdehaugen and Uranienborg in the West End of Oslo. The station is preceded and succeeded by Bogstadveien and Briskeby, respectively. The station used to be near the junction of Holtegata and Uranienborgveien streets, but it was moved towards Hegdehaugen and Rosenborg in 2009, after the line had been upgraded and reconstructed. In 2014, it was moved even further towards Rosenborg, and consequently renamed. Rosenborg (old Station)
Rosenborg () was a tram stop on the Oslo Tramway. It was located on the shopping street Bogstadveien, in the area of the same name in the neighbourhood Hegdehaugen. The station was preceded by Schultz' gate on the Briskeby Line and succeeded by Homansbyen and Uranienborgveien on the Homansby and Briskeby Line, respectively. In 2005, the station was upgraded, with heightened platforms, new skeds and real-time monitors. In 2014, the stop was closed and replaced by the newly established Bogstadveien stop, located a bit further north on the Bogstadveien street, closer to Majorstuen. The succeeding Uranienborg stop was relocated to the street junction between Bogstadveien and Josefines gate, and renamed Rosenborg. Rosenborg Ballklub, commonly referred to simply as Rosenborg () or RBK, is a Norwegian professional football club from Trondheim that plays in Eliteserien. The club has won a record 26 league titles, a shared record 12 Norwegian Football Cup titles and have played more UEFA matches than any other Norwegian team. RBK play their home games at the all-seater Lerkendal Stadion which has a capacity of 21,421. The club was founded as Odd in 1917 but were not allowed to play amateur league matches until 1928, when they took the present name. They reached the League of Norway in 1937–38, but were relegated to lower divisions during the 1940s. The club moved to Lerkendal in 1957 and their first title was the 1960 Cup, resulting in their first participation in a UEFA tournament. Rosenborg Ishockeyklubb Elite (RIHK) was a Norwegian ice hockey club located in Trondheim, Norway. In March, 2010, Rosenborg IHKE was promoted to the GET-ligaen, but the senior department of the club is currently inactive following a bankruptcy in 2014. Several people involved in the organization went on to found a new Trondheim-based club, Nidaros Hockey, in 2014. History Because of the 2012 NHL lockout, Jack Skille of the Florida Panthers signed with RIHK. Skille did not receive any wages from Rosenborg and was the first NHL player to go to Norway during the lockout. The elite department of Rosenborg ceased operations in the summer of 2014, following a long period of economic problems. Castello is a brand of cheeses produced by Arla Foods amba, a Danish agricultural marketing cooperative based in Viby, Aarhus. Worldwide, a variety of cheeses are marketed under the Castello name, including semi soft cheeses, semi hard cheeses, blue cheeses, and cream cheeses.
