Rory McKay
Rory McKay (born 2 February 1979 in Scotland) is a Scottish rugby union former footballer and now coach who played for Glasgow Warriors. He played at flanker. He played at international level for the Scotland Sevens side. Starting his amateur career at Gordonians RFC, McKay then moved to Glasgow Hawks. In 2002, he left the Hawks to sign for the professional provincial side Glasgow Warriors. While not playing for the provincial side, he played for Aberdeen Grammar. McKay left Glasgow Warriors in 2004 and pursued a career in rugby in Australia, Italy and England. He played for Manly in Australia; Venezia in Italy; and Waterloo and Bedford Blues in England. The flanker also represented Scotland in their Club XV side. He represented an invitational Caledonia Reds side versus a Co-Optimists side in effort to get the Caledonia Reds side formally re-instated by the SRU in 2014. Scotland National Rugby Sevens Team
The Scotland national rugby sevens team competes in the World Rugby Sevens Series, Rugby World Cup Sevens and the Commonwealth Games. The head coach is Ciaran Beattie, supported by manager Sean Lamont and skills coach Graham Shiel. During 2006, the side were in danger of no longer competing in the Sevens World Series due to the financial problems faced by the Scottish Rugby Union. However, they gained a reprieve when the International Rugby Board announced that a leg of the Sevens World Series would be held at Murrayfield in Edinburgh, starting in 2007. The SRU then announced that the Scotland sevens team would compete in all eight legs of the Sevens World Series, and draw players from the country's national academy. Gordonians RFC are a rugby union team based in Aberdeen, Scotland founded in 1923. They take their name from the fact that they were originally the former pupils club for Robert Gordon's College in the city. History Founded, in 1904–05 for the former pupils of Robert Gordon's College, the Gordonian Rugby Football Club has seen many changes in its constitution and fortunes over the last 101 years.
