Ronny Hodel
Ronny Hodel (born 27 October 1982) is a Swiss former professional footballer who played as a left-back. He started out with local club FC Luzern in 2000 before moving on to BSC Young Boys in 2005. He played there for two years until he was signed by FC Basel at the end of the 2006/07 season. He was considered one of the best left-backs in Switzerland despite never making his full international debut. Football career Born in Horw, Lucerne, Hodel played his youth football with local club Luzern coming through the ranks. In summer 2000 he advanced from their U-21 team and joined their first team under head coach Andy Egli. In his second season with the team he became a regular player in the starting eleven. After the season 2002–03 Luzern suffered relegation. Hodel stayed with the team another two seasons. Christoph Spycher (born 30 March 1978) is Swiss former professional footballer who played as a left-back. Spycher is chief sports officer of BSC Young Boys. Career Born in Wolhusen, Spycher played for Eintracht Frankfurt in the Bundesliga for five years, mainly as a full-back. He had a trial with Rangers FC in June 2004. In the 2007–08 season he was vice captain at Eintracht. He was appointed captain of the team in July 2009. In May 2010, it was reported that he joined BSC Young Boys. International career He represented the national team at 2008 UEFA Euro, where the team showed good performance in the tournament, achieving the best result at the time. The Swiss Cup 2007-08 (Swisscom Cup) is the 83rd season of Switzerland's football knockout competition. The winner was FC Basel. AC Bellinzona qualified for the UEFA Cup after finishing as runner-up due to Basel qualifying for the UEFA Champions League. Format In season 2007-08 the tournament structure was changed. The 10 clubs from the Swiss Super League as well as the 17 clubs of the Swiss Challenge League qualified directly for the cup and entered in the round of 64. FC Vaduz were not included in the cup as they play in the Liechtenstein Cup. 11 clubs from the 1st league as well as 26 clubs from the amateur leagues had to qualify in regional tournaments for the Swisscom Cup. The Wankdorf Stadium (; between 2005 and 2020 known as Stade de Suisse) is a football stadium in Bern, Switzerland. The second largest all-seater football stadium in Switzerland, it currently serves as the home ground of the Swiss football team BSC Young Boys.
