Ron Tesolin
Ronald "Ron" Joseph Tesolin (February 3, 1940 – November 13, 1986) was a provincial level politician from Alberta, Canada. He served as a member of the Legislative Assembly of Alberta from 1975 to 1979 sitting with the governing Progressive Conservative caucus. Political career Tesolin ran for a seat to the Alberta Legislature in the 1975 Alberta general election. He won the electoral district of Lac La Biche-McMurray Lac La Biche-McMurray was a provincial electoral district in Alberta, Canada, mandated to return a single member to the Legislative Assembly of Alberta using first-past-the-post balloting from 1971 to 1986. It replaced the district of Lac La Bi ... defeating four other candidates by a comfortable margin to pick up the district for the governing Progressive Conservative party. Lac La Biche, Alberta
Lac La Biche ( ) is a hamlet in Lac La Biche County within northeast Alberta, Canada. It is located approximately northeast of the provincial capital of Edmonton. Previously incorporated as a town, Lac La Biche amalgamated with Lakeland County to form Lac La Biche County on August 1, 2007. Etymology The indigenous peoples of the area referred to the lake as Elk Lake ( Nêhiyawêwin: ''wâwâskesiwisâkahikan'', Dënesųłiné: ''tzalith tway''). Lac La Biche-McMurray
Lac La Biche-McMurray was a provincial electoral district in Alberta, Canada, mandated to return a single member to the Legislative Assembly of Alberta using first-past-the-post balloting from 1971 to 1986. It replaced the district of Lac La Biche with minimal boundary changes in 1971, and when abolished in 1986, was replaced by Athabasca-Lac La Biche and Fort McMurray. It differed from the current Fort McMurray-Lac La Biche riding in that it included the entire city of Fort McMurray. Representation history The riding's first MLA was Dan Bouvier, newly-minted member for Lac La Biche. Elected under the Social Credit banner, he resigned from caucus a year later "in the interest of isconstituents". He did not run again in the 1975 election. Norman "Norm" Allen Weiss (December 23, 1935 – June 2, 2015) was a provincial level politician from Alberta, Canada. He served as a member of the Legislative Assembly of Alberta from 1979 to 1993 sitting with the governing Progressive Conservative caucus. During his time in office he served a couple different cabinet portfolios under the government of Don Getty. Early life Norman Allen Weiss was born December 23, 1935 in Edmonton, Alberta to Alfred William Weiss and Matilda Steltter. He attended Victoria Composite High School, and married Carol Elaine Dittberner on June 15, 1961, with which he had two daughters. Weiss would work for Shell Canada as the Western Marketing Manager and transfer to Vancouver, British Columbia, and later transfer to Fort McMurray, Alberta to operate a Shell bulk plant and Ski-Doo dealership. The 1975 Alberta general election was held on March 26, 1975, to elect members of the Legislative Assembly of Alberta to the 18th Alberta Legislature. The election was called on February 14, 1975 prorogued and dissolved of the 17th Alberta Legislature. The Progressive Conservative Party led by incumbent Premier Peter Lougheed won its second term in government in a landslide, taking over 62 per cent of the popular vote and winning 69 of the 75 seats in the legislature to form a majority government.
