Ron Maurer
Ron Maurer (born March 10, 1963) is a Republican politician from the U.S. state of Oregon. He served in the Oregon House of Representatives until January 2011. He represented District 3, which encompasses most of Josephine County, including the cities of Grants Pass and Cave Junction. He ran for Oregon Superintendent of Public Instruction in 2010, losing to incumbent Susan Castillo. Following the election he took a job as the Director of the Congressional Liaison Service for the Department of Veterans Affairs in Washington, DC. Early life and career A fourth-generation Oregonian, Maurer was born in Grants Pass and graduated from Oregon State University in 1985 with a bachelor of science degree in science education. He went on to receive a masters in continuing and occupational education from Kansas State University in 1989, and a Doctor of Education degree from Northern Illinois University in 1999. Rogue River, Oregon
Rogue River is a city in Jackson County, Oregon, United States. As of the 2020 census the population was 2,407. History The settlement was known as "Woodville" for many years, but was changed to "Rogue River" about 1912. The Woodville post office operated from 1876 until 1912, when the name was changed to Rogue River. Geography and climate The city of Rogue River is in western Jackson County, on the north side of the Rogue River. Interstate 5 passes through the south side of the city, running along the north bank of the river. Access is from Exit 48 (Depot Street). This is a list of notable alumni of Oregon State University, a university in Corvallis, Oregon in the United States. The university traces its roots back to 1856 when Corvallis Academy was founded. It wasn't formally incorporated until 1858 when the name was changed to Corvallis College, and wasn't chartered until 1868. 2008 Oregon Legislative Election
Elections for the 75th Oregon Legislative Assembly took place in 2008. The Republican and Democratic primary elections were on May 20, 2008, and the general election was held on November 4, 2008. Fifteen of the Oregon State Senate's thirty seats were up for election, as were all 60 seats of the Oregon House of Representatives. In the general election, there were 39 races with both Democratic and Republican candidates; 24 were in districts previously represented by a Republican, 15 in districts previously represented by Democrats.
