Ron Mandos
Ron Mandos is a Dutch art promoter. He also founded Galerie Ron Mando. Based in Amsterdam, Galerie Ron Mandos represents artists such as Hans Op de Beeck, Isaac Julien, Anthony Goicolea, Daniel Arsham, Mohau Modisakeng, Troika, Jacco Olivier, Levi van Veluw and Erwin Olaf. The gallery scouts Dutch art academies in search of new talent. Biography He owned several flower shops in the city centre. In 1995 Mandos decided to sell his flower shops to travel around the world. During a stay in Madrid he visited the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía, where he re-encountered his passion for art. After experiencing Stendhal Syndrome in front of Pablo Picasso’s Guernica, he decided to pursue a career in the arts. The 1913 Armory Show, also known as the International Exhibition of Modern Art, was a show organized by the Association of American Painters and Sculptors in 1913. Joep Van Lieshout
Joep van Lieshout (born 1963), is a Dutch artist and sculptor born in Ravenstein, Netherlands, and founder of Atelier Van Lieshout (AVL). Life and work Van Lieshout received his formal education and training from the Academy of Modern Art in Rotterdam (1980–1985), Ateliers '63 in Haarlem (1985–1987), and from the Villa Arson in Nice, France (1987). In 1995 Van Lieshout formed the Atelier Van Lieshout (AVL) studio group in Rotterdam, Netherlands, where the company continues to design and fabricate their widely exhibited works. Knight Jan Hoet (; 23 June 1936 – 27 February 2014) was the Belgian founder of SMAK (''Stedelijk Museum voor Actuele Kunst'' or Municipal Museum for Contemporary Art) in Ghent, Belgium. Biography Jan Hoet was born in Leuven, Belgium. Throughout his career, he was often referred to in the press as a former boxer (he pursued the sport in college) and several times expressed an admiration for Mike Tyson. In the late 1960s and early 1970s he and photographer Rony Heirman made some comics together. His international reputation was first established by "Chambres d'Amis," an innovative exhibition he organized in Ghent in 1986. In that show, about 50 American and European artists were invited to create works for 50 private homes in Ghent, which were then opened to the public for several weeks.
