Rome Urbe Airport ( it, Aeroporto di Roma-Urbe, ) is a small civilian airport in Rome, situated in the northern part of the city, between Via Salaria and the Tiber River, about 2.7 NM (5 km, 3.1 mi) inside the Greater Ring Road (Italian: Grande Raccordo Anulare or GRA), the circular motorway around the city. History The airport was inaugurated in Benito Mussolini's presence in 1928, with the name "Littorio Airport" (the name was chosen by Mussolini himself). Until World War II it was the main civilian airport in Italy, and the base for the Italian national airline Ala Littoria. Centocelle Airport ( it, Aeroporto di Centocelle) was an airport situated in Centocelle, a quarter of Rome in Italy. It is also referred to as Rome-Centocelle Airport (''Aeroporto di Roma-Centocelle''). It was the first airport and flight school in Italy, opened on 15 April 1909 when Wilbur Wright came to give a demonstration of his "Flyer" airplane, footage of which appears in the early newsreel film, '' Wilbur Wright und seine Flugmaschine''. During World War 2, in February 1944, after news of the Allies' landing at Anzio, Luftwaffe's 1.''Staffel'' and 2.''Staffel'', of Nachtschlachtgruppe (NSGr.) 9, were based at Centocelle, from where they attacked Allied units in southern Latium, mostly during moonlit night. Rome Viterbo Airport (Italian language, Italian: ''Aeroporto di Roma-Viterbo'' is a proposed re-use of Viterbo Air Force Base, a civilian, commerce, commercial and military airport about 80 kilometers north of Rome, Italy. Originally opened as a military airport in 1936, the airfield was dedicated to Tommaso Fabbri and is situated 3 km northwest of the town of Viterbo in the Lazio region. On November 26, 2007, Italian transport minister Alessandro Bianchi (politician, born 1945), Alessandro Bianchi announced that Viterbo had been chosen by the Italian Ministry of Transport as the site of the next Airport to serve Rome, alongside Leonardo da Vinci Airport, and Rome Ciampino Airport. Becks Grove Airport is a privately owned, public use airport located eight nautical miles (9  mi, 15  km) northwest of the central business district of Rome, a city in Oneida County, New York, United States. The former airport code for Becks Grove was NY45. It was changed to K16 in the early 2000s. Facilities and aircraft Becks Grove Airport covers an area of 120 acres (49 ha) at an elevation of 450 feet (137 m) above mean sea level. It has one runway designated 6/24 with an asphalt surface measuring 3,000 by 23 feet (914 x 7 m). Griffiss International Airport
Griffiss International Airport is a public airport located east of the central business district of Rome, a city in Oneida County, New York, United States. This airport is publicly owned by County of Oneida. It is located on the former site of Griffiss Air Force Base, which closed in 1995. In 1999, the airfield hosted Woodstock '99. Operations from the Oneida County Airport in Oriskany, New York, were transferred here in 2006, after which the county closed that airport in January 2007. In December 2013, Griffiss International Airport was selected as a test site by the United States Federal Aviation Administration to "aid in researching the complexities of integrating Unmanned Aircraft Systems into the congested, northeast airspace."
