Romanian Venezuelan
Romanian Venezuelans are Venezuelans of Romanian descent or a Romania-born person who resides in Venezuela. The Romanian community in Venezuela is around 10,000 people. They are mostly immigrants who arrived in the country, like many other European nationalities, following the Second World War and the policies of the governments of the Warsaw Pact. Romanians became adjusted to Venezuelan society, because Romanian and Spanish belong to Romance languages, as well as Romanians' Latin identity. During the Venezuelan refugee crisis, some Venezuelans of Romanian descent migrated to Romania. Caracas
Caracas (, ), officially Santiago de León de Caracas, abbreviated as CCS, is the capital and largest city of Venezuela, and the center of the Metropolitan Region of Caracas (or Greater Caracas). Caracas is located along the Guaire River in the northern part of the country, within the Caracas Valley of the Venezuelan coastal mountain range (Cordillera de la Costa). Joana Benedek
Joana Benedek (, ; born Roxana Joana Benedek Godeanu on January 21, 1972) is a Romanian-born Mexican actress. She left her native land in search of work. She first moved to Venezuela before moving to Mexico. In Caracas she continued to study, but later left her studies to work as a model and playing several telenovela characters. In 1997 she signed a contract with a prestigious cosmetics company in New York City. During her stay in the city, she decided to study acting in the Academy of Susan Grace. She was later discovered by a Mexican producer, which began her career as an actress in telenovelas. European Venezuelans or White Venezuelans are Venezuelan citizens who self-identify in the national census as white, tracing their heritage to European ethnic groups. According to the official census report, although "white" literally involves external issues such as light skin, shape and color of hair and eyes, among others, the term "white" has been used in different ways in different historical periods and places, and so its precise definition is somewhat confusing. Romanian Orthodox Church Of Caracas
Church of St. Constantine and St. Helena, located in El Hatillo at the south-east of Caracas. It was donated by the Orthodox Church of Venezuela and the Government of Romania to the Orthodox community living in the capital of Venezuela. The land for its construction was donated by the Mayor. There are only 15 religious temples of its kind in the world and only two of them are outside Romania. It was built by craftsmen from the Maramureș region in Transylvania, it was assembled without nails or metal objects in the structure and it is adorned with religious neo-Byzantine paintings. The bell tower rises more than 30 meters. Romanian Diaspora
The Romanian diaspora is the ethnically Romanian population outside Romania and Moldova. The concept does not usually include the ethnic Romanians who live as natives in nearby states, chiefly those Romanians who live in Ukraine, Hungary, Serbia, and Bulgaria. Thea Segall
Thea Segall Rubin (13 May 1929 – 25 October 2009) was a Romanian photographer who lived in Venezuela from 1958 until her death. She was winner of the 2003 National Photography Award of Venezuela, editor of numerous publications and director of her own photographic studio. Through her photographic work she covered aspects such as ethnographic registry, rural culture, religious architecture, portraits and institutional photography. Education Segall had two sisters, Miora and Natasa. Her parents were Andrés Segall and Golda Rubin. From 1936 and 1947 she received her primary education, entering the Notre Dame de Sion school of nuns at the age of ten and then moving to a private French school where she ended her education. Moisés Kaufman (born November 21, 1963) is a Venezuelan theater director, filmmaker, playwright, founder of Tectonic Theater Project, based in New York City, and co-founder of Miami New Drama at the Colony Theatre. Lya Imber
Lya Imber (1914–1981) was a pediatriacian. Biography Imber was born in Odessa, Ukraine on 17 March 1914 and died from cancer in Caracas, Venezuela on 23 September 1981. She was a prominent pediatrician vice president of UNICEF, and the first woman in Venezuela to earn the degree of Doctor of Medical Sciences, as well as the first female member of the board of the Medical School of the Federal District. Caracas Museum of Contemporary Art () is a museum of modern art located in the Parque Central Complex in Caracas, Venezuela. It was founded on 30 August 1973 by the journalist and art patron Sofía Ímber, also its director from 1973 to her dismissal in the Chavist cultural revolution of 2001.
