Roman Sergeevich Trofimov
Roman Sergeevich Trofimov (russian: Ро́ман Серге́евич Трофи́мов; born November 19, 1989) is a Russian ski jumper competing for Moscow, Moskva WVSM. His first Ski jumping World Cup, World Cup competition took place in Willingen, Germany in 2010, although he had previously competed in qualifying rounds without qualifying. He was 48th in the competition. Career He started his elite career in Bischofshofen in 2007 by competing in a Ski jumping Fis Cup, Fis Cup-competition. Shortly after, he advanced to the Ski jumping Continental Cup, Continental Cup. His best finish in the Continental Cup is 2nd place from Liberec 2008. 2008-09 Trofimov competed in some World Cup qualifications and the Summer Grand Prix (Summer World Cup) and finished 39th as best. 2009-10 Trofimov advanced into the Russian World Cup team and competed in Willingen and Klingenthal. Planica
Planica () is an Alpine valley in northwestern Slovenia, extending south from the border village of Rateče, not far from another well-known ski resort, Kranjska Gora. Further south, the valley extends into the Tamar Valley, a popular hiking destination in Triglav National Park. Planica is famous for ski jumping. The first ski jumping hill was constructed before 1930 at the slope of Mount Ponca. In 1933, Ivan Rožman constructed a larger hill, known as the Bloudek Giant (''Bloudkova velikanka'') after Stanko Bloudek, which later gave rise to ski flying. The venue was completed in 1934. The first ski jump over in history was achieved at the hill in 1936 by Sepp Bradl. At the time, it was the biggest jumping hill in the world.
