Roman Anin
Roman Aleksandrovich Anin (; born 16 December 1986) is a Russian investigative journalist. He is one of the founders of the independent (IStories) outlet and a former journalist for the Russian newspaper '' Novaya Gazeta''. The main investigation in which he was involved is the investigation of the Panama Papers. Biography Roman Anin was born on 16 December 1986 in Chișinău, Moldova. His grandfather was labelled as an "enemy of the people" and spent 15 years in prison. Anin's journalistic career began in 2006, in the sports department of the '' Novaya Gazeta'' newspaper. In 2008, he started working in the investigation department of ''Novaya Gazeta''. In 2010, Anin graduated from the MSU Faculty of Journalism, admission to which was connected with the desire to become a football commentator. The Pulitzer Prize () is an award for achievements in newspaper, magazine, online journalism, literature, and musical composition within the United States. It was established in 1917 by provisions in the will of Joseph Pulitzer, who had made his fortune as a newspaper publisher, and is administered by Columbia University. Prizes are awarded annually in twenty-one categories. In twenty of the categories, each winner receives a certificate and a US$15,000 cash award (raised from $10,000 in 2017). The winner in the public service category is awarded a gold medal. Sergei Leonidovich Magnitsky (russian: Сергeй Леонидович Магнитский, ; 8 April 1972 – 16 November 2009) was a Ukrainian-born Russian tax advisor responsible for exposing corruption and misconduct by Russian government officials while representing client Hermitage Capital Management. His arrest in 2008 and subsequent death after eleven months in police custody generated international attention and triggered both official and unofficial inquiries into allegations of fraud, theft and human rights violations in Russia. His posthumous trial was the first in the Russian Federation. Magnitsky alleged there had been large-scale theft from the Russian state, sanctioned and carried out by Russian officials. He was arrested and eventually died in prison seven days before the expiration of the one-year term during which he could be legally held without trial. The John S. and James L. Knight Foundation, also known as the Knight Foundation, is an American non-profit foundation that provides grants for journalism, communities, and the arts. The European Press Prize is an award programme for excellence in journalism across all 47 countries of Europe. It was founded in 2012 by seven European media foundations: The Guardian Foundation, Thomson Reuters Foundation, Jyllands-Posten Foundation, Politiken Foundation, Media Development Investment Fund, Vereniging Veronica and Stichting Democratie en Media. Artyom Genrikhovich Borovik (russian: Артём Ге́нрихович Борови́к, p=ɐrˈtʲɵm ˈɡʲenrʲɪxəvʲɪtɕ bərɐˈvʲik; 13 September 1960 – 9 March 2000) was a Russian investigative journalist and media magnate.
